mymooladi
Bernie why did you change it?June
Raspbernie
Well, believe it or not, the earlier version I posted was a rough mix. This is the final mix. Some tweaks here and there and some understated strings added—not a big difference, unless you listen very carefully :-)Bernie

Raspbernie
The story of "Never Say Die":An unsolicited e-mail was received at EricCarmen.com from someone who said that he had purchased the contents of an abandoned storage locker in Los Angeles containing a tape with Eric Carmen's name on it. A few days later a very large and heavy box arrived. Inside was a 2" master tape with the title, "Never Say Die."Originally recorded as a demo in 1991, "Never Say Die" was written by Eric Carmen and Desmond Child. The instrumentation on the demo recording was sparse and pre-programmed, and the song lay unfinished. Unitil now. Intoxicated with the excitement of finding the multi-track master of an UNRELEASED Eric Carmen demo, a group of musicians decided to finish the song. They added real drums, bass and guitars to Eric's original vocals (what a concept!)After hearing the song for the first time in over a decade and as part of a new recording, Eric called it "absolutely GREAT!" adding, "It was great fun hearing it again and the guys did an incredible job with it."A few painstaking months later we had a final mix, and "Never Say Die" got the chance to live up to its name.Bernie
aggiesjc
I remember the excitement surrounding this song several months back, when all this news was coming to light. It's an incredible story, and the song's title is so apt.

darlene
It's gorgeous! There *are* some subtle differences in the final mix, but the song just knocks me out! I LOVE IT! Congratulations! Gregkevinw
sounds great bernie.sounds like you mixed it a little hotter, with the bass more pronounced. the strings/or is that a synthesizer? are a good touch also.the bridge has a little "meat loaf" feel with the piano behind ec's vocals. Tony Cartmill
Good song. GREAT MIX! It should be included on any future Carmen CD or Box Set. Now boys, take a leave of absence from your jobs, and work the same magic on Eric's demos of "Temporary Hero", "Devil..." and "Cindy in the Wind".Whadayasay? Raspbernie
Zuke,Sorry, but I'm a Apple man. All you need do on a Mac is select SAVE AS. Maybe someone with a PC can help you capture that file to your hard drive.Bernie
mannoman
Zuke,When you first attempt to play NSD do you get a message to Open or Save? If so, save it wherever you wish. It worked for me. If you don't get a msg to Open or Save, I'm clueless. Ted
JuliaAllByMyself
Oh, no! My computer says I already have this song, so I can't download it! Bernie, PLEEEASE don't take the link off until after the weekend, so I can hopefully have time to sort it out! Thanks! I loved the first version, and I bet your new version is brilliant, too!!
