Gregkevinw
alright, i'm aware of artful dodger, big star etc..... but what new group captures the spirit of our raspberries these days? great pop, harmonies and melodies.
marvin
I don't know too many of the new bands out there, but there are a few fairly new artists (from the last 15 years or so) that in my opinion have captured some of the 'berries' style, and Eric's solo feel. These would be:1. Kyle Vincent 2. Chris von Sneidern3. Matthew Sweet4. Teenage Fan ClubMarvin
Carmen Smalley
I already said the Australian band Jet,Pierson said Keane(I saw their CD Hopes And Fears last day. They told me they were similar to The Bend Fold¥s Five in the record shop),I hope to listen to Keane as soon as possible. marvin
Probably not 'cool' to say so, but I love Hanson. Their new single "Penny and Me" is superb pop music. They tend to drift toward the more poppy side of the 'berries than the rock side, but still, they write mind-numbingly catchy songs.Marvin
Tony Cartmill
I nominate Butch Walker as a modern day morphed Raspberries. He's a bit harder than the old guys, and with a bit more attitude. But Walker's strong melodic and harmonic choruses, fat guitar riffs, booming drums and satirical lyrics make him sound like a "'Berries version 2" group after a bitter divorce. I usually don't like harder edge pop rock, but this guy's songwriting is top notch!
Lyle
Hey my first post! A few newer bands that seem kind of Raspberry-ish in my mind are from right here in Halifax. Some that come to mind are Sloan, The Superfriendz and The Flashing Lights. All nice pop rock bands!
marvin
Welcome fellow Canadian Lyle. I know Sloan pretty well, but have never heard of the other bands you mention.Marvin

steve-o
I bought my kid the CD that features "Stacy's Mom" for Christmas. This group is great!!! They have solid tracks thru the entire album. I think they are one of the best bands out there. They would make the grand-daddy's of power pop proud.Steve-O
