JohnO
The Moody Blues who recorded "Go Now" were an entirely different band, both personnel-wise (Denny Laine and Cliff Warwick instead of Hayward & Lodge), and musical direction-wise, than the band that recorded "Days Of Future Passed" and the next several dozen albums. With Laine fronting the band, they were an R&B band, doing a lot of soul covers (they did a couple of James Brown tunes on their debut, and even "Go Now" was a Bessie Banks cover). Regarding the much better known incarnation of the Moodies, I'd consider "Days Of Future Passed" their debut. While the other bands you named also changed personnel from their debut efforts, at least the bands' overall sounds pretty much stayed the same. Poor4Life
"Wanted Dead or Alive"-Warren ZevonNot his Jackson Browne produced Asylum records release, but one he did a few years earlier."The Official Unofficial Babys Album"-I've had a boot of this for years. It was rereleased a couple of years ago. Avoid it at all costs. even John Waite disowns it.Jeff

JohnO
"I love the single "Go Now" also but alas the rest of the album seemed a little too choppy for my taste."The American release, "Go Now", isn't nearly as good or consistent as the UK debut, titled "The Magnificent Moodies". In 1965, hardly any of the Brit bands' debut LPs in the US were the ones actually released over there, it seems.
MAM
Watched Denny Laine do "Go Now" on a PBS special last week on the British Invasion. As much as I prefer the 60's songs over material from the 50's, the PBS 50's specials were MUCH better produced and the bands were much tighter. What this has to do with the topic at hand, I have no idea. Oh well

Zuke
Does anyone know why every pressing of "GO NOW" that I've heard has such terrible fidelity? And, it seems to fade too fast.
