Matthew C. Clark
I went to the DTE Energy Music Theatre last night & it was a great show minus Eric. There was a session guitarist & singer but I don't know his name but he jammed with Alan, Mark, Chris & Jack. I had to buy earplugs because I was sitting near at the right speaker. Jack Bruce did great guitar work. Alan was wearing a bright yellow shirt. The show ended at 10:07. I talked to some friends & one girl that I didn't know was trying to give me a hug or something but I shook her hand & I was twisting & clapping & dancing during the concert. hbecstacy
Thanks for the review, Matt. I emailed Ticketmaster to inquire about a refund for my tix to the Keswick show and got a terse reply that the "promoters are not offering refunds for this performance," so it looks like I'm going, EC or not. Which is not a total drag...I like AP, MF and certainly JB, and CC ain't bad either...Thanks for the tip on the volume too -- I'm in the fifth row.Howard
Lew Bundles
Speaking of refunds, I remember a time that there was a show advertised in my neck of the woods...The show was 38 Special and T. Rex (YOU CAN PROBABLY GUESS THAT I AM OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN AN ALTERNATE AT THE LAST SUPPER)...Well, anyway, T. Rex canceled and I went to ask for a refund, but the promoter told me "No Refund" because 38 Special was the headliner and the show was still going on...I told him that I would sue him for false advertising for as far as UI knew, T. Rex may never have been scheduled for the show...I had purchased a ticket for the advertised 38 Special/T. Rex concert and that show was no longer taking place...After a little bit of an argument, I told the promoter if he was wise, next time he should list the Beatles as the opening act, get peoplle to buy tickets and then just say that the Beatles canceled, therefore, he could, in his opinion, justifiably screw everybody out of their money...I got a refund. Billy K.
T. Rex essentially is nowadways just Mickey Finn, who revived the name, and whatever musicians he happened to pick up.
Lew Bundles
I didnt realize that Mickey Finn goes out as T.Rex...Of course, the story that I was relating to was about 27 or 28 years ago...
Steveh
I had tickets to the Keswick show, but after learning EC would not be there, I sent the tickets back to Ticketmaster. I hope they give me a refund but if they don't, I'm still not going. I will see EC...Someday! Steveh
Billy K.
Lew Bundles, yes indeed, the new T.Rex is out there...whether it sounds good or not(probably not), I can't really say.
kazumi
hbecstacy, I had a ticket for Westbury show and I didn't have any problems when I got my money back. They just checked the line up, called Ticketmaster office and gave me refund. I don't understand why you can't get refund.
Raspbernie
Same story here...of course, they won't immediately agree to giving you a refund...but PRESS ON and ask to speak to someone else, eventually they will refund your money as the show did specically list Eric as a performer. Good luck! --Bernie
seattlesteve
Whew, final got out of tickets for the Toronto show next week where I was going to be on business. Thanks to Julia in England for the heads up on the refund as my purchase timing did not show Erics name in the line up so I figured I was out of luck. Julia got a refund, so I was able to, after the routine "put me to the supervisor" bit. We were dealing direcly with the venue here, not ticketmaster. Pricey too, as 2 tickets were $163. Would have killed though to see Eric from my row 5 perch. You know it occurred to me durng all the disussion with fans understanding but disappointed, how disappointed Eric must be. Hey I'm bummed I'm missing just one show, but Eric must have been stoked to play with these guys for a whole month! He found himself in a damned if I don't, damned if I do sitution. It's hard being stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. We're with you though man.It also ocurred to me, that those dates that Rundgren isn't going to make leave a big hole. There is a whole lot of music that comes out of Eric and Todd to fill.
JuliaD
Hey, definitely PUSH them to give you a refund for Keswick, I got one yesterday! Read my recent posts here to see precisely what I said when they said "no refunds"...As far as T Rex, wasn't that the band with the late Marc Bolan who did "Bangagong"?
