danmichel
Bernie...Eric may be proud of his work in the corn field with Linda...They didn't let just anyone do the corn field salute.
aggiesjc
Oh wow. I'm nearly speechless over that! But I do have a big smile on my face! Eric looks great! Love the Miami Vice and prom dress combo. This is a classic - thanks, Bernie!
James
I was an Eric Carmen freak back then (and still am), and always had my tentacles out for any music/project he might be putting out or involved in. After seeing all the stuff Bernie has dug up for this web site, it's amazing to me how much stuff I missed back in the day. Though I was completely on my own and, until this website, I'd never run into another person that was a fan...or anyone that could even give me a heads-up to any Eric Carmen related happenings. MAM
I REALLY enjoyed the Louise/Eric video. Great performance too! Thanks Bernie.
raspathens
I know what you mean James. If I saw something in those days it was either by accident or because my brother called me while something was on. This video is yet another reminder of Eric's incredible voice. His tone and phasing are unsurpassed.
Paulie Mississippi
Wow. EC was on HEE HAW? I was in the Navy around then and I guess we just didn't get HEE HAW on the ship...

We laughed our heads off, but not for the right reasons It's not still on is it?

raspathens
I remember when our family moved from Maryland to Georgia in '71, it was the first time we met anyone who actually watched that show.

Eric Carmen
I think we tried the "cornfield" jokes three or four times and they were honestly soooo bad that I just didn't get them. They kept trying a different joke and each one was worse than the last. If I hadn't known better, I'd have felt like a real dunce. I think after the fourth one, they just gave up. The good part was that I had to keep crouching down in the cornfield so I could "pop up" again, and Linda Thompson was standing right in front of me wearing a tiny little pair of denim cutoffs. Come to think of it, maybe that's why I kept blowing the punch lines. I couldn't concentrate! e
Bessieboo
you are just too city-fied to understand that level of humor. I bet they even tried to talk real s l o w to help the poor boy understand.

Julie
I love Louise! She's a big fan of Eric's and has done recorded a couple of his other songs on her albums. She does "Maybe My Baby" and another--which escapes me at this moment. And ya, I have had this recording as a promo copy for years. It does make you happy! And as for "Hee Haw"? This Iowa farm girl gets it and LOVES it! Lol! "where, where, are you tonight? Why did you go and leave me all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love....but you found another and ***raspberry*** you were gone!"
angelina
Whoa.....Bernie you out did your self again. Thanks ever so much. I laughed at the Don Johnson jacket EC sported until I realized I had a few of them myself back then.
Braves fan
Julie...I second that!! Although I'm not a big country fan,I did and still do like the Mandrell sisters. But you had to love the Hee-Haw characters...always characters there that you could relate to at least one person you knew!!......Man, those were the good old days of tv!! Now we're stuck in the age of "reality" and silicone. Will this too pass?? Will we ever come to our senses and revert back to simpler more meaningful ways???...... Never hurts to wish!!Ya'll have a GREAT Monday!!Ronda
Braves fan
BTW...didn't Alan Thicke do the song for the show? HT from Mo
Alan Thicke starred in "Growing Pains". BJ Thomas and I forget who else did the song for the show.HT
Braves fan
I knew Thicke was in the show, but I thought I had read somewhere that he had performed the theme song. Thanks for the info. on that HT. I am more and more amazed with E.C. and the true impact he's had on music. I just thought I knew alot about him until I joined this board. TONS of stuff to learn here!Ronda
Julie
On a side note (which these threads seem to do!) Alan Thicke's ex-wife, Gloria Loring, sang the theme song to "The Facts of Life" sitcom.
