Where To Buy

Recommended Posts

Just got back from my FYE here in SW FL. I bought the CD/DVD version. The 45-ish manager was psyched when I chatted him up regarding the Raspberries...actually checking it out while I was paying at the counter. Currently the CD/DVD version was the only version stocked. The package is VERY impressive, love the raspberry colored discs. I listened to both CDs in their entirety on the way back. I drove the LONG way so as to listen to all 21 songs. This CD truly captures the "feel" of those live shows. The band is SO tight. This is a must buy.

Anyway, once I clear the mountains of paper from my desk, I'll pop the DVD in and check that out.

Happy Friggin' Tuesday!

John

The Best Buy in Mayfield Heights told me there was a "delivery problem". Yeah, they didn't order them so they won't get delivered. I said as much to the clerk. She said there were none at any of the other stores in Cleveland, either. I'll be stopping out at Record Den after work this evening. Hope they still have some in stock.

Yeah, Barnes & Noble and Borders tried to give me the "possible delivery problem" line but couldn't quite explain if that was the case or not. What? How do you "not know for sure" if they were ordered or if they arrived? confused I don't buy it for a minute.

But, let's try to hold on to positives, too. the upside is that it IS selling well online and we all can celebrate that! spin

This is just a Total Disgrace. At least back in the 70's you could buy the damn records. Ryko should die. Do you realize you can't even go to I-Tunes and download the whole show? They are only carrying the short set.

I can buy the latest import from the Spongetones there (and did), but I can't get the new album from one of the most influential groups in the history of Pop music?!?

This was supposed to be a glorious day. I just gave in and purchased on Amazon. But I may still drive into the city tonight to the Virgin store. I really want to hear those surround mixes on the DVD to see if I should take the plunge for the limitd edition version at raspberries.net

Sigh...

Since just about all the music stores have closed around here, I ordered mine through Barnes and Noble. I pre-ordered it and I received an email today that it shipped this morning.

I checked on-line and Sam Goody has both versions in stock with a four and a half star rating and a review. For those of you who are having a hard time finding a store stocking it, you may want to check out their store locator.

Just finished the DVD 5 song set. Whoa.....I'd gotten so used to the online snips that I did not realize just how good it looked on a big screen and surround sound. Screw working out tonight, I'm going to play the DVD til my eyes melt.

BTW, in skimming the incredible CD/DVD package I noticed Bernie has quite a bit to do with the art direction, cover, etc...Kudos to you Bernie.

Angelina I just finished my dvd as well - and I can honestly say I was totally exhausted from watching!! I must eat some dinner to get some more reserve energy to watch it another 50 times tonight lol! We need the 21 song dvd - I won't even go out that day to work when it arrives. It will be heaven.

No luck at Best Buy or FYE, but Newbury Comics in Salem, NH had several copies of both versions prominently displayed in the front of the store! I bought the Deluxe edition 'cause I just couldn't wait for my LE to ship. How exciting to buy a Raspberries CD!! I'm off to watch the DVD... smile

Stock is not good in Chicago. As mentioned in previous posts, both Best Buy and Circuit City do not have it currently and forget Wallmart and Target. Of the two independent places I called, both sold out early today.

Borders in Schaumburg did NOT get ONE copy in from their local distributor though they show today as the street release date. The local distributor just didn't have any to sell. They said they had lots of calls and lots of complaints.

The same can be said for all the Barnes and Noble stores. Not one of them received any, though they have it listed for special orders.

The Best Buy I stopped at (worthless) saw it on their website but for "mail order" only.

Best Buy can't be counted on for anything since they are in the process of down-sizing their cd inventory and they are one of the major players too.

A wonderful industry.

Another wild goose chase report.... I went out to Best Buy after work -- same thing, checked the computer, all the stores in the area DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY ON ORDER!!! The poor guy, he felt the wrath -- he only works there, I'm sorry, really... Then off to the mall... there used to be an FYE store there BUT IT'S GONE!! Actually, three record stores very close by have closed in the last year. So, then we checked Circuit City, just on the off chance -- but no luck there either. We do have Barnes & Noble, but our store doesn't carry music, and we have Borders Express and they don't carry music either. So... when we got home, I bought the 13-song CD off iTunes and I'm listening to it now!! "Should I Wait" is playing now -- absolutely stellar!!! I just couldn't wait -- had to get "something" today!!
