Brian Mac
Help me out here. I ain't waiting for Amazon and snail mail, but I want the two disc version. Record Stores are getting kind of scarce these days. Anybody know where I can pick it up? I have Best Buy and Barnes & Noble near me. There'a a Compact Disc World, but it's a ride. Any brick and mortar stores carrying this thing?

MJ
good luck everyone The man at the counter thought I was nuts asking them to HOLD IT FOR ME until I got there - like there are thousands of Raspberries fans in Bradenton, FL lol.
Brian Mac
Cool. FYE would have never occured to me. You guys are the best.
JohnO
While we're on the subject of where to buy it, I'd like to take a brief moment to offer a sincere, heart-felt "F*** you!!!" to Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Kemp Mill Music in Washington, DC, for not carrying it! (with special kudos to B&N for displaying the latest CD, also released today, by Korn (!!!???!!!) in a very prominent place, immediately as one walks into their CD department. With Tower Records gone, this is the kind of crap we in DC face! I'll try Melody at Dupont Circle later today.......if anyone here has it, they will. (Otherwise, will have to drive to either Baltimore or Richmond to get it....or go the Amazon route......Sheeesshh!!!!!!!)
Raspbernie
My little report from a lunch-time walk in New York City: Nothing at Best Buy (that sucks since it's become a 'go to' place for new DVD/CD and game releases), I spotted the single CD at a 5th Avenue Barnes & Noble, but the best was the Virgin Megastore in Times Square who had multiple copies of both releases. And even though I can get a carton of each gratis for the role I played in helping get them on the shelves, I bought one of each—just to do it. And you know what, it felt sooooooo good! sllvnbil
I saw ONE copy of the single live CD at Border's in Strongsville, Ohio. I didn't see the other version or the DVD at all. I couldn't wait, I had to buy it! Very impressive!!!!
angelina
Bernie...it's 1PM here in Naples, FL....I'm getting ready to go to lunch and buy both releases. Even though I ordered and anxiously await the Special Limited Edition, and also await a copy I won online over the weekend..I just can't wait to actually have it in my hands. See ya' later.I feel a groundswell of support forming.
Raspbernie
That's GREAT, Angelina! The way I look at it is if Billy Sullivan, who is *IN* the freakin' band can buy one, then the least we can all do is buy one (or two) ourselves today at retail. I did. Heck, there are over 1,000 EC.com Members! If we all pick up a copy, we'll be well on our way to pushing this release onto the Top 200 for the week. Let's make it happen!Bernie
Don_Krider
I got the same message at Best Buy this morning. Shipments won't be stocked until this afternoon (the clerk admitted that sometimes the hundreds of CDs and DVDs Best Buy stocks aren't checked in and put out until very late, and sometimes not until Wednesday). However, a good sign to me was the Raspberries spot in one of the Louisville stores --- they had three copies of Raspberries "Greatest" last week, and now they have one copy in stock, meaning they sold two...Don http://www.epinions.com/content_393207123588
raspathens
John O : Kemp Mill eh? I lived in Forest Knolls until I was 12. Malta Lane, but I digress... They are not in BestBuy or Circuit City in Athens, Georgia. However, lots of real crap displayed.
Ron Sutton
I picked up a copy at the Best Buys in King Of Prussia, PA today, they had received 3 copies and have sold them already. I also saw it at the Fye store today and they have it on sale.Ron
Travis
Virgin in the Dallas area had one more copy of the $25 set.
Brian Mac
Just got back from a wild goose chase of 3 FYE stores and a Compact Disc World in NJ. Question? How are Raspberries supposed to sell a lot of CD's, if all of the major chains are not even carrying it? I blame Ryko for the anti-promotion. I spent 10 years in the record business, and I know that a label actually PUSHING a record can get all the stores to take at least a few copies of any record they "are behind." Looks like the boys are getting the shaft again. Same crap, different year.
Gene
The Best Buy here didn't have one... but the Barnes & Noble at least had an empty section with the plastic divider saying "Raspberries". I made a big point of asking for it at both locations.Bernie... do the charts people care if it gets bought from a brick & mortar location as opposed to the store's online site? I want to get a few and give them to folks. There is an employee of a local Starbucks who is 20 something... but a Beatle fan. I bet we'll have a new Raspberries fan after I get my hands on a copy. Brian Michael Page
The 2:15 report - found ONE copy of the deluxe edition at the FYE in South Attleboro, Massachusetts.BMP
Al K
Best Buy is hit and miss - and from the looks of it, mostly miss. Same with Barnes and Noble.Every Borders store I contacted had at least one in stock; same for FYE. Virgin too. Those are your best bets.Plus, most indie record stores will have both versions in stock - I saw several of both at Record Den in Mentor, Ohio. When you find a store that doesn't stock it, give 'em a little education about the band, the lead singer, the hits, the reunion, the liner notes, etc. They'll get the idea if they get feedback from the consumers. Gene
I think Al is right on the indy stores. I have found one at Earshot here in Greenville SC. I'm off to get one or three. Gotta go.
Brian Mac
On a happier note, Amazon is reporting only 5 copies of the standard version left. They probably didn't realize they were getting an exclusive...
svin
I reported this elsewhere, but I bought my copy of the Deluxe edition at the Downtown Sam Goody's here in San Diego. There were several copies in stock under " Raspberries ".
JohnO
While it looks like Ryko may nave missed the boat as far as stocking the good old-fashioned music/CD stores, they appear to be doing quite well on Amazon - the Deluxe version is #219 in music sales, which ain't too shabby! Weirdly enough, while Amazon only has 5 copies left of the single-disk set, it's #47,537 in music sales (!?)Also, it looks like a great day for the oldies regarding Ryko releases....they also put out Robert Gordon & Chris Spedding's "It's Now Or Never" today, their tribute to Elvis...and featuring The Jordanaires. Bob G's always been one of the better Elvis interpreters.
Gene
Somebody in the DC area be sure to drop one off by XM for Mike Marrone in case he didn't get a promo copy!
blackhawkpat
I pre-ordered the deluxe one, but I went to my local Best Buy here in Chicago and was told they have "no plans on carrying it". I asked the guy to look and see if any other Best Buy stores were carrying it and he showed me on his computer screen that NONE in Illinois have it, nor have any in "the process of shipping".He did say it was "odd, because the Best Buy website is offering sales of $14.99 for one and $22.99 for the other". He told me they could order it for me, but said it would probably arrive faster if I ordered it myself through their website. The store I was at did carry the recent Greatest Hits CD and had one in stock. Then, I went to Circuit City and they told me they weren't stocking it, either. This can't be good. Someone needs to be on the phone. I feel like I'm thirteen again, chasing their records all over. At least now I can drive and don't need the bus! Ecstasy
None of the Best Buys or Barnes & Nobles by me (Chicago western suburbs) have it except online. One Borders had ONE copy and that's gone (same story with FYE.) Why doesn't anyone have either a) any copies, or more than one copy? If they aren't in the stores, where IS Ryko sending them? Online only?
