Beth Lentz
I got the same message as yoyorex from Amazon.com yesterday - very disappointing!! At least I am very fortunate to have the complete piano books for Eric's first solo album and for "Boats Against The Current." I also obtained the sheet music for "I Was Born To Love You" from sheetmusicplus.com about a year or so ago. Looks like that will have to be enough for now! Raspbernie
I don't have any more info on this. I wish I did. --Bernie
jimmy whitefield
I think yhat its easier just picking the song out by just listening to it...The only song that i think was a bit hard to pick out on piano was "my girl" very strange chords on that song
marvin
Jimmy I agree. I am not a pianist, but I have been able to figure out most of Eric's songs on the guitar. MARVIN
yoyorex
I agree with you Jimmy and marvin, but it's long (and it'd take a long time doing it for every good carmen song!) and the result is never as good as the original.I'm not only looking for the tab, but the melody and the instrumental lines as well. First you hear and play the melody, then you find the tab (which can be hard sometimes), but then it's less enjoyable as with the complete behind piano part.As I had found the book, I bought it, but as it's not available, if I have time once, I'll try to transcript the songs. darlene
Yoyorex, What a disappointment...I'm not a pianist either, but since I taught myself to type, I decided I could teach myself Eric's piano parts to the songs, so I used to sit down for ages just playing along with the records, duplicating his parts. They are pretty intricate, but I loved doing it. I used to be able to play every cut. I can still remember "Starting Over" and "She Remembered." It takes a long time, and you have to listen very carefully, but his piano parts are amazing. I always hated the "stock" arrangements by staff arrangers. They were so generic and watered down, they never even resembled Eric's piano parts anyway. --Darlene
Lydia
Unfortuately, if you want someone to accompany you while you play, you MUST have the sheet music..URRGH! I have the song books for Change of Heart and Boats but they've fallen apart from over-use so I've gotten others from ebay. I don't want to have to use them and was hoping for the songbook.Lydia
Tony Cartmill
Lydia, 2 ideas:A copy machine and lamination, and it's E.C. sheet music forever...Till I come over and steal it! <img border="0" alt="[blech!]" title="" src="graemlins/blech.gif" />
