What Raspberries song would you like to be?

Recommended Posts

Darlene,

You are right once again! I too stood near Eric by the stage in amazement of his talent and to pick up some chords etc. as an aspiring musician. Although I will say again, he is not bad. My friend Margot who also went to Brush HS told me about the sock story.

I thought it was Mick Jagger who did the sock thing. Judging from how many women expected to be the "chosen one," I don't think he needed any socks.

I'm guilty of using socks once. When I was 14, my girlfriends and I stuffed socks in our bathing suits and swam out to see these cool guys on a dock across the river. (Actually, I wasn't much of a swimmer, so I half doggie-paddled). Everything went really well, until we were leaving. The boy I had a monster crush on, called out my name. I turned around and there was a trail of socks behind me, and as he held up two of them, he asked "Are these YOURS?!" I was so

embarrassed, I swam faster than I ever had to get away. Socks just don't make it.

darlene, it was most of the guys back then who did the sock thing, I've read about a lot of them doing it over the years.

You reminded me of my mom with your swimming story, I remember when I was about 12, my mom told me she went swimming with a girlfriend once, and the girl dived off the high dive, and she went underwater, but her "falsies" as they were called back then just floated and bobbed around on the surface. My mom said she jumped out of the pool, ran home, and never went swimming there again haha

I have heard about the sock thing also. What I am trying to say is that I don't think there are socks involved, any kind of stuffing, any kind of trickery, or smoke & mirrors involved. You know it is kinda like that Seinfeld episode when Kramer chose to walk around feeling "free".

That's what I mean. wink

Darlene, Mark Wahlberg (formally Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch)is a popular white rapper turned movie star "The Italian Job", "Planet of the Apes", "Fear", who played a John Holmes-type character in the critically acclaimed movie "Boogie Nights" with Burt Reynolds and Julianne Moore a few years ago.

It got nominated for awards. Rent it for a laugh and an inside look into the 70's porn industry.

I must confess that Gina's "Sock" post was quite the surprise. As stated before Margot (underclassman to Eric) told us about the sock rumors at Brush High School. I believe they were all only rumors and Eric is quite manly. How did all this get started anyways?

When your sittin' around waiting for new music and you feel at home with your message board buds, there's no tellin' what might transpire. Remember the thread about Eric's big 'hair'? Now this sock thing has gotten way outta hand laugh One thing is for sure; if Eric was trying to get the attention of his female fans in concert it certainly worked! All the time I'm wondering if Susan Carmen is reading this and what her reaction might be...Kirk.

I'll bet what we write on the board is not very high up on Susan Carmen's list. I'm sure she's a very savvy lady, and isn't interested in the least in Eric's old rock concerts, groupies, or SOCKS! They're both way past that.

She may read some of it for a laugh. I think if I were she, I would be laughing too.
