7/24 - Keswick Theatre

Recommended Posts

Hi Bernie,

I'll be there on the 24th...unbelievable that I'll finally be seeing Eric live after all these years. I remember when I was in elementary school, word was that the "Starting Over" Raspberries lineup was going to play a concert at the junior high because it won a radio station contest, collecting the most gum wrappers or something...and I was already a die-hard Razz fan...but not going to that school yet, so I couldn't go...it didn't pan out and the station provided a different band I believe...so to get that opportunity to see Eric in person is just incredible, thank you for alerting us to this tour.

Also, thanks Bernie for forwarding my question about the Ringo drum sample to Eric, it was a thrill to see it on the new "Ask Eric."

Hope to see you at the Keswick!

Hey Bernie,

My guess is that Eric used the "Sgt. Pepper Reprise"..."Magic Mystery Tour" has a similar isolated Ringo drum lick, but if Eric used that, he'd have to change the tempo, and he wouldn't have had much to sample before the MC voice kicks in ("Roll up, roll up for the magic mystery tour...), while the "Sgt. Pepper" lick is an exact match to the one on Eric's CD...he may have used the version on "Beatles Anthology 2" that has no sound effects or studio treatment, just 16 bars of raw Ringo, and tailor-made for sampling.

Whatever the case, "Cartoon World" is a great track, and the Ringo reference either way is a welcome wink to his former boss.

What are we WEARING?!!!! This could be a whole topic with the girls on the board in itself!

Jeans and some darling little top with spaghetti straps in a gorgeous summer color (that I still have to shop for)like I used to wear when to Raspberries' concerts when I was 25! I remember that half the fun and anticipation was shopping for that "perfect" outfit to wear to all the Raspberries shows. (Bring back memories, girls?) Oh, and of course--a BIG SMILE!!!!

WOW, Bernie, I'll be almost as excited to meet you as I will be to see Eric! (don't go gettin' a big head, I said ALMOST, lol!).

Darlene, good question about the clothes. I just got a great "little black dress" for my vacation in Disney World (just got home tonight), it's made like a tank top on top, solid black, and *very* short, with 4" black fringe on the hem, alas, it's probably too dressy for a concert, *sigh*. I'll probably go with a pants suit, maybe my black one with the long coat that makes me look like Anne Robinson from "Weakest Link" with long blonde hair :P

Girls, Definitely go for the black leather miniskirt and hot pink V necked sweater, and JuliaD, wear your "little black dress" with the fringe. This may be much more fun than I thought.

Maybe I'll go shopping for a new outfit another dimension beyond the jeans thing...I shouldn't date myself here, but I remember when Eric was at The Bottom Line in New York City in 1976, it was really in to wear sparkly tops and shiny satin dressy jackets over jeans, and we did. Every time I look at those pictures we took, I grin...

Okay, girls, what are you wearing??? --Darlene

Ohhhhhhhh, but I'm so jealous... the only way I'll have cleavage is if I wear the dress upside down and backwards (think about it).

Darlene, I recall the first night I saw Eric on the DD tour, I wore a zebra print miniskirt and a white waist length jacket with black buttons, and high heels (black). I went to my moms before I went to the concert, and I said "I look like a hooker", and my mom said "yeah, but a *pricey* one", lol! It cracked me up, you'd have to know how straight and prim and proper my mom is to realize how hysterical that comment was. ;)

Yep, planning on AC also. My husband is going to the Keswick with me. I'll probably go to Atlantic City with my girlfriend Millie, who saw the Dirty Dancing show with me in PA. (Herman said he doesn't have to see Eric in two different outfits, so Millie can have his ticket. He LOVES to hear him perform though. He loved Eric in Ringo's show). I just bought the cutest little miniskirt (it was so cute I bought one in black and one in white). Now for what to wear with it...JuliaD's cleavage should be very interesting, especially if she comes in walking on her hands...go for the cleavage and miniskirt! --Darlene

Hello everyone. We are going to the show, and hope to meet you. Would everyone like to plan a before show or after show get together?

I don't know the area, but maybe someone from the area could suggest something. The lobby of the theatre, somewhere near the theatre, a lounge, coffee shop, I don't know it is just an idea. I thought it would be nice to chit chat face to face.

What does everyone think about that?

Oops.. girls I forgot to mention what appears to be an important subject here. An outfit to wear to the show. Mini skirt? I envy you, I don't know, I call my legs tree stumps. Oh, and cleavage, huh...what's that? I suppose if I just walk around all night with my arms tightly folded, I could get that effect.

 It's always something

Gina, A get-together sounds great! I think we'll all know where to meet, what with Julia walking around on her hands, and you walking around with your arms folded! I think we'll just know each other because we're all so bright, funny and spirited! And--don't worry--BUYING the miniskirt

is one thing--fitting INTO it is another! I'm on

the exercise bike tonight! --Darlene

By the way, I've added a pic of me to my profile so anyone at the show will have an idea who I am if they are looking for other forum members. This is a pic taken just last week at Disney World, and no, I am not the one wearing the white gloves, I am the one with the striped top... and you can't tell by the pic, but I have very long, frosted hair (more than halfway down my back)
