Cozmik
Well not personally. But thanks for the info on the Line 6 Variax, Billy. I couldn't wait until Christmas and bought one this weekend. I love it! I ordered the Workbench software and can't wait to start using it to customize.A question - what settings do you use on what songs playing the Variax with the Raspberries? A couple of examples would satisfy my curiosity.
Keith Nivan
Santa ... man ... I've been a Good Boy this year!!!"Keith"P.S. Cool Coz: I'd get "crackin'" on "Mind Baby"!!! Great purchase. sllvnbil
Congrats Cozmik on your Variax purchase!! Basiclly with the Raspberries I use 4 guitar models. Mostly the Tele in the bridge position {that's Eric's favorite as well!!}. When I'm using the acoustic sound, I love the J-200 acoustic model. I use that on 'Should I Wait?" and "Overnight Sensation" and 'Nobody Knows" or any song that I pull up an acoustic sound. I also use the Gretsch model on " No Reply". I use the Les Paul model on the end solo to "Don't Want To Say Goodbye" and on the intro to "Go All The Way". For all you "non guitar people", thanks for your patience! Us guitar players can go on & on about this stuff!
stringer
Doesn't bother me, actually it would be cool to have a musician's corner. I have a feeling there are a lot of other musicians on this board. Topics could be between members on playing different riffs and their equipment. Just my two cents. JohnO
Question for Billy - Are all of the different models/sounds on your guitar usable? I've heard rumors that the Ric 12-string sound, for example, doesn't cut it too well. (Possibly the reason why you use an actual Ric?) On the other hand, the Coral electric sitar and banjo supposedly sound very accurate. Just curious...While I don't have a Line 6 guitar, I've been using one of their POD guitar amps/modelers (in headphone mode) for several years...and some of the amp models sound great, while others are too digital and sterile sounding for my taste. (The effects all sound pretty good, at least to my ears....and it's great for recording direct!)
sllvnbil
JohnO, You're absolutly right. The Rick 12 string model is not up to par than the rest of the models. That's excactly why I've been using my Rick 12. I initially brought out my Rick 12 for a spare for Wally. Eric had the idea of doubling up the Rick 12 strings to get "double the jangle"! The sitar and banjo are great. All the models except for all the 12 strings are great. Billy
Cozmik
Have you upgraded the firmware on your guitar? I've heard in greatly improves some of the models. Although I've read where one person rolled back the upgrade because they thought 1 model that was important to them didn't sound as good in the upgrade. sllvnbil
I'm afraid to upgrade it. I like the rest of the models right where they are. I do own 2 Variax's so maybe I could update one and see how it goes.
