Raspbernie
Kirk,More like Strike 83! Everyone was telling me he had to go but his musical depth kept me believing that he would eventually get what is and what isn't acceptable on a Message Board. This morning all of his posts were slams against long-standing members of this community. I told him time and time again that I simply would not continue to stand by him if he wages personal and uncalled for attacks. He forced me to choose from between him and all of you. I think I made the right decision.Bernie

EricH
In may case, my brain just got tired after reading 2 or 3 lines of one of his messages... I couldn't understand what he was talking about! Guess I just ain't that smart (like Curly would say: "I'm trying to think, but nothin's happenin'"). Tony Cartmill
With his passion and knowledge of music, can you really call him an internet troll? He IS mentally unstable, and probably under some kind of monitored disability care... What Bernie, didn't tell us was that his decision to choose all of us over Beatlebum took many back and forth hours, and we won only because BB was "mynnie" and we were "mo". Raspbernie
Adrienne, I think he is CRAZY! Probably not dangerous, but so mentally unstable as to be unpredictable. Roadie #3
Let's see . . .Gene Taylor aka: official/unofficial photographer of the Raspberries / part time roadie (not to much lately) and now Chief of Raspberries Security. Man, look what we have created. Now the tough part, providing a laminate large enough to put all that information on it!!!

I think he needs to keep in mind this is NOT your typical online community in that in most online communities, the members have never actually met, or at least very few have... here, we have members who have met more than once, and those of us who have met have a pretty good idea of what the others are capable of... and I'd venture to say not a damn one of us who has met Ted would think for a SECOND that Ted is Beatlebum. Beatlebum's got delusions of grandeur. If Ted went totally psychotic and ended up in a straight jacket, he'd *still* never do the things beatlebum did or say the things beatlebum said... integrity cannot be bought nor sold, and beatlebum has quite a task before him if he truly wants to "be like Ted"
darlene
What is an internet troll? I'm not up on all these tech-savvy terms. I think people can feel when someone is "mentally" stalking, trying to play "mind games" with them or putting them down with an obviously cruel intent, whether in "internet lingo" or otherwise. This is not cool in my estimation and I try to avoid it. I'm sure that having a passion and knowledge of music doesn't preclude one from being anything else, including internet troll and stalker. I'm very cautious when it comes to this kind of thing, because it gives me the creeps.--Darlene
Kirk
Darlene--I'm not sure what an internet troll is, but we have had at least a couple of people who have had some interest in the site, found us an accepting bunch, and proceeded to deluge us with everything about their life story, to the point that I had a feeling that this was not their first stop on the net, and wouldn't be their last. Like a shooting star, they burned very bright for a short time, and then they were gone. Off to the next site, I suppose, and the next set of willing ears. Remember the girl that had all of those connections in Nashville? She posted on everything for awhile, and then just vanished. Of course, some went more willingly than others--Kirk. darlene
Mentslly unstable is not good in person, but on the internet, it can be very unnerving. I look askance at people who would post and/or e-mail from one address and keep recipients in the dark about who is sending messages. Add to that the anonymity of the internet, and the fact that people can use multiple screennames/aliases, and you have rather a witche's brew.If he/they is/are doing the same thing on Raspberries.net, another "comeuppance" is in order. Hopefully, he/they will be ignored.--Darlene
pierson
this really is much ado about nothing.... Beatlebum was & IS fanatical & OBSESSIVE & very much a REACTIONARY person--- all of you who have prodded him and have expected a lesser reaction from the HYPER BOY are STOOPID..... you threw gas on the fire & expected a cool calm & collected person.... YOU ARE ALL GUILTY...Bernie had to let him go because he's not MADE for this website-- no one handled him with proper care... & NO WANTED TO.... That is your choice.... & you look like a bunch of prudes because of it....even when he attacked me I responded with a civil response & HE UNDERSTOOD.... I LIKED HIM because he was thinking outside a box & had an intense way of thinking.... & his typing was ATROCIOUS!!!! there was a point in my life where i understood those who THOUGHT way different than I DO had something to offer, even if they were obnoxious, rude & insufferable... usually there was a human being underneath the facade/surface... those of us who emailed beatlebum KNEW he/them was troubled & a bit of a train wreck, but we still enjoyed his presence because it added some life to the all-too predictable "yadda yadda yadda"... he also had a great ear for music... he liked orpheus & first choice fer god's sake...those of you who enjoy people who like MOR crap & prefer to not upset the status quo are now sleeping happily ever.... enjoy the white bread....may u be happy in your black & white "PLEASANTVILLE" worlds where all of Eric Carmen's songs are absent from Raspberries LPs because those songs speak of doing the beast with two backs prior to the alter (i.e. "Go All The Way").... Raspbernie
Pat,You know I love ya (and I do) but you're barking up the wrong tree here. Yesterday morning this IDIOT posted no fewer than half a dozen messages -- each containing derogatory condemnations of people who have been visiting this web site for YEARS. He basically told VARIOUS PEOPLE to leave and "GO TO HELL!" Interesting that I really liked the guy A LOT, too, and now I'm ready, willing and able to spew every derogatory adjective at my disposal on him, isn't it? Maybe I have a reason? Yeah, I do. How much were we bending over backwards to let this guy stay? A whole friggin' lot! Kathy, Ted and I had to edit EVERY SINGLE one of his posts to remove overt sexual comments and derogatory personal attacks. He would make one post where he said something vicious against someone and post ten minutes later that he "loves them!" Every day I'd receive no fewer than four complaints from HIM that everyone ELSE should be banned! Well, guess what? I gave up. I couldn't take it. Yeah, I really dug his music musings. REALLY. In fact, Kathy and Ted will tell you how I told both of them that I simply refused to BAN him (even when faced with massive evidence that he should be) because I found he had some really interesting perspectives. But ATTACK the people who have made this web site tick, and breathe and live for YEARS, Nope. I can't accept that. Pat, maybe you didn't frequent this web site back when there wasn't ANYTHING happening in Eric's career to warrant frequent visits. Back then I had to INVENT content to keep a flame burning. I started ASK ERIC. I added MP3s. I created a PRESS ARCHIVE. I wrote a BOOK. I even produced a NEW SONG. I dug into my massive morgue of memorabilia and updated this site EVERY SINGLE WEEK, sometimes EVERY SINGLE DAY, to make it look like something was new when there was nothing at all going on. And you know what? Those people that came and posted and supported EricCarmen.com are the blood that runs through this web site's veins. Attack them and you're not only attacking the reason I started EricCarmen.com in the first place but you're also attacking the VERY SPARK that launched the Raspberries reunion. So what's a Beatlebum to do -- attack the people who helped EC.com reach nearly 1 million hits? What an ingrate! We invited him into our house and he absolutely trashed the place. I would rather close the whole web site down then let that continue.Bernie

Margaret
Bernie, This site is your labor of love and I support your desire to preserve and protect it 100%! I would hate to think of the world without EricCarmen.com - how would I get my daily fix??? This site is much too good to be brought down by someone who cannot or will not "play nice". Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do on a daily basis to keep the dream alive! Margaret

Brian Mac
And there I was thinking I didn't understand "cool." I thought BB was speaking some hip language I just didn't "get." Old age I figured. He seemed harmless enough though.Bernie, that might be most fiery and passionate post I've ever read from you. You were obviously tortured having to make this decision. All I can say is there are plenty of people writing here that DO NOT tow the Company Line (if there is one), or kiss Ass. I've posted some controversial subjects and never had a word "moderated." All of our personal opinions are respected. That's why I like it here. Knowing this, I am positive that BB must have crossed the line to the point of no return, for Bernie to have taken this drastic action.MAC
