PowerPopJames
My pleasure Darlene! I'm happy to help out in any way I can, especially since there are so many out of towners on the list. I only found out about this site a couple of weeks ago and I've been addicted ever since! I log on at work and at home, it's crazy, but I HAVE to know what's going on. And everyone is so nice! I apologize for never introducing myself, I just kinda dove right in. Good luck to everyone, I hope you all can get tickets. Let me rephrase that, I KNOW you all will get tickets! marvin
Am I right to make this assumption:- If you want the meal and a ticket to the show, that's $60 plus either $75 (GA) or $124 (balcony)?Marvin
wileeeone
Looks that way, but the concert starts at 8:00. They cannot physically play until midnight?!?!?So what happens at midnight? Any special celebrations besides the Raspberries being there again?
marvin
I would guess that the concert probably won't start until 10:00ish at the earliest. Easier to play through / ring in the new year that wayMarvin
wileeeone
price: $75.00 - $125.00 *door: 7:00pm / show: 8:00pmSo, we stand in the Mosh Pit again? OHMYGOSH, for 4+ hours.........
Raspbernie
Something seems off on the showtime as dinner/ticket packages are being accepted from 5-9:30 p.m. -- that would put the show at !0:00 p.m. or later.Bernie
wileeeone
My feet love that answer! I bet you are right
BadfingerBarb
I can't say I'm real happy with this latest development. I was planning to buy a GA ticket Saturday and IF I was able to go to the show I was going to eat in the restaurant and pass the line like I did last time. Now I would have to pay another $60 just for dinner! I suppose $60 shouldn't mean that much since I paid $350 just in airfare for the last show but it's the principal of it all. $60 for dinner? I'm happy with a $4.00 hamburger!
Raspbernie
Generally speaking, a night out on New Year's Eve generally means speanding more money than usual. It's one of the primo nights for restaurants and entertainment venues. In other words, you could always spend it at home watching the ball drop from your living room couch, which is what I usually do—except for this year, of course! :-)Bernie
AnniekNY
Did it say that the regular restaurant won't be available to anything ELSE other than the $60 package? This is going to be an interesting Saturday morning - making these decision pretty fast.annieJames - welcome to the Raspberries-obsessed!!!! It's a sickness there is no cure for! BadfingerBarb
New Years Eve is typically the one night of the year that I make it a point in staying home. I had almost talked myself into going. I figured hearing the "Driving Around/Cruising Music" medley would be worth it alone (although I did hear it in the soundcheck from the lobby) The whole NYE thing is putting me off. There was one obnoxious drunk at last weekends show so there's no telling how many will be at a NYE show. Finances is definitely an issue for me as well so I've decided to wait for possible future shows and pass on this one. I hope I don't regret it! Raspbernie
Well, Eric must have just seen my earlier post on the times not adding up because he just wrote to confirm that Raspberries will be going on at around 10:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve with the possibility of some opening act beforehand. More to come…Bernie
smittie
That confirms it for me, Eric really does read the boards. Maybe someday he will post something too! Sure would love to read his thoughts on meeting the message board crowd!
PowerPopJames
I second that! I realize this board is for fans, but I would also love to hear something from the man himself. Not that the reunion isn't enough or anything, I guess I'm just a bit surprised he hasn't written anything.
Zuke
Hey, anybody know the name of the cool place that was right across the street from HOB? I forget, but I ate a pretty good portabello sandwich there. They had a resaurant, a comedy club, a jazz band, and a martini bar all in the same building. Maybe we could eat there.
PowerPopJames
It's called Pickwick and Frolic.
Zuke
That's it! Thanks.Do you think that will be closed or have their own thing going on and we CAN'T eat there?
beachberry
And fairly priced to boot. And Alysa was the best waitress there.
Zuke
Somebody from OH should call there and see if HOB bound people can stop there first. Just a suggestion.
Trindy
Pickwick & Frolic (where my sisters and I ate before last week's show) is having their own dinner/comedy show package (in various combinations at various price levels) for NYE. Afraid that's a no-go...all of their packages are at LEAST as expensive as going to HOB and none is a "dinner only" package. The other option I can think of is to just go to a restaurant--if not there around the Gateway area (near Gund Arena/Jacobs Field)...there are many to choose from...but there's no guarantee that the bigger ones aren't doing "package deals" too, and those may be just as pricey. Those in doubt may just want to suck it up and make reservations at HOB... wileeeone
Eric was just on our local radio being interviewed. he said that they'd come on around 10:00 and play through midnight and if they had a few drinks, maybe till 4:00. It was a great interview......He did say that he was disappointed that there was not more publicity for the last show and people did not know about it......how much faster can tickets sell out?
AnniekNY
I am fairly positive that Eric posted a reply to a question I had a few years ago. It had no member info on the side and was a very technical answer and was unsigned....re:d dinner - any local place would be great as long as we can all meet up!annie
