Boston's Forgotten Concert Hall, Four Stories Below Street Level

Building codes aimed to protect public safety in the event of a fire ended the life of Steinert Hall as a magnificent concert venue.  With its single staircase, fire would make it a death trap, however, there is a movement to restore this concert jewel, created in the Italian Renaissance style, to her former glory and to update her to modern public safety codes.

Her accoustics are a marvel.  She originally seated 650 people, and her building is the home of Steinert Pianos, an official Steinway dealer.

Steinert Hall would be a lovely place for a group of us to enjoy an EC piano concert.  Anyone up for a little Rach???
