Lew Bundles
Bernie, how was Tom Jones?…I am going to see him at the Beacon on Thurs….
Raspbernie
FANTASTIC! Still has his voice at 82...and that twinkle in his eye. A few audience members did toss their 'knickers' on stage for old times sake. And yes, most of them were pretty old—the ladies, of course...not sure about the knickers! 😜 1
Matthew C. Clark
The first time that I heard from Tom Jones was this song "Daughter Of Darkness" (audio only & stereo) when my late parents had the mono 45 Parrot single!! (I was 5 years old in 1970) & it was 53 years ago!!
Matthew C. Clark
BUT it was the flip B side 45 single called "Tupelo Mississippi Flash" (remake of the late Jerry Reed song) from 1970 which has Tom talking at the opening of the song BUT on the CD reissues, they don't have that because it was cut!! (audio only & NOT on any Jones album)
Helen G
I went to see him here at the Florida Theater in Jacksonville, FL a week ago Tuesday. It's THE oldest traditional concert hall in this city and he flat out loved it - said as much in his MC work. The whole thing was fantastic - he was in wonderful singing voice, going from poignant to downright funny in his MC work and choice of songs, and looked stunning in his black flashy apparel. While he doesn't have the physical energy (movement) on stage as he used to, he & his wonderful band made up for it with the staging, the video wall work highlighting the solo performing going on at the moment, etc. He mentioned that he holds the record for the oldest artist (at the age of 82?) to have a hit record in the UK! And he even brought his whole band down front to acknowledgement AFTER the encore songs! I'll add some photos here later (they're on my phone memory and I did post the best of them to my FB feed!).
Vinnie B Trask
Tom is the greatest. I did play with Tom Jones for 4 shows as a substitute. He travelled separately but was a overall nice guy!

I am in awe of this man's voice at his age. What one can do when they take care and pamper their singing voice. It is after all such a precious instrument. I cannot stress this enough. Lew Bundles
Just came back from tonight’s show in NYC and while his voice is remarkable and the band is quite good-his song selection leaves a lot to be desired… I really expected more of the big hits and I left disappointed…No She’s A Lady, Without Love, Help Yourself, I’m Never Gonna Fall In Love Again, Love Me Tonight…

James
Voice is strong, respect for him for staying in shape. I´d suspect he works hard at it. P.S. the production is weak, he and his music deserve better imho.

I played 4 theatres with him including the State theater in Easton ,Pa. He is a tremendous singer who can collaborate with nearly any artist and hold his own each time
