Lew Bundles
Went to see this Queen tribute band tonite…Okay show…Nothing to write home about…
susie b
I have always enjoyed the musical catalog of Queen, however, since Freddie's biopic hit the screen, the band has been SO overplayed on my favorite stations that it's getting to be quite annoying. The only songs getting airplay are Another One Bites the Dust, We Are the Champions, Killer Queen & of course, Bohemian Rhapsody.
susie b
Heard a rumor that Brian May has hinted of a film sequel to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Raspbernie
Queen has an incredible catalog of great GREAT songs. Here's a hidden gem that most people have never heard, yet is one of my absolute favorites. Spread your wings, baby.
Lew Bundles
Love Queen…But(and I guess you can’t blame them), this Killer Queen tribute band never digs deep into the catalogue…Would love to hear Ogre Battle, March Of The Black Queen, Too Late, Love Of My Life, Now I’m Here…etc… Having seen the “real” Queen” a few times, I can honestly say that they were not that great live…When Mercury was not playing the piano, the three piece found was quite thin and (to me), Freddie was more annoying than enchanting…Always took short cuts on the vocals and very rarely hit the high notes of the recordings…
Lew Bundles
Also, as a PSA…I bought tickets for the show that morning…When I got to the arena that day to purchase tickets, I ran a little experiment…I sat in the parking lot and punched up the “Ticketmaster” website as if I was going to purchase tickets for the show from their site…I took a look at their ticket selection and focused in on the four tickets that I “intended” to purchase from them…Four tickets, section 209, row RR, seats 1-4…I jotted that info down along with their final price of $404, including fees -$101 apiece… I cancelled out of that transaction and went inside to the box office window and asked for those same four tickets and got them for a total of $159.60-under $40 per ducat… Saved $60 a ticket by purchasing directly from the box office…And remember, I initially went to Ticketmaster and not a secondary resale site …What a ripoff…

Not that great live?!? No high notes?!? The whole thing falls apart when Freddie steps away from the piano?!? Sure.
Lew Bundles
I noticed that the song has been lowered and there is a siren -like guitar ringing out in the background during some parts to fill out the sound and notice how thin the sound is when May steps up for a solo… Also, there’s a bevy of background vocals to bolster the sound and Mercury never reaches for the high notes that are on the recorded version… This is ferocious-The above is not…

susie b
Now boys, play nicely... I was only at the barn for a few hours and look what happened. Since Kirk is out of proximity, it's up to LC & me to keep the peace back East.
LC
Well, let’s see… site founder vs. junior moderator. Easy call here. Bernie’s right. Lol Plus, Lew called me a “puppet” recently, and it did not go unnoticed. 1
