LC
I wonder if "Go All the Way" got past "My Ding-a-Ling" the following week? Any idea? Some great numbers in that Top 10... "Everybody Plays the Fool" and "Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me" were on the radio all the time where I lived in '72 (Johnstown, PA), and I dug both. I also liked "Black and White" by Three Dog Night, and Michael Jackson's "Ben" is really outstanding. And you couldn't go wrong with Elvis's "Burning Love." I love looking at charts like this... so many other memorable songs all the way down the list. Three other particular favorites of mine: Chicago's "Saturday in the Park," Rick Nelson's "Garden Party," and Bread's "Guitar Man." No wonder we got so hooked on music....
Lew Bundles
In his illustrious career, My Ding A Ling was Chuck Berry’s only number one song…
Dave from Equinox
LC, I grew up not far from where you were then (SE Indiana County), enjoyed listening to WCRO! I used to enjoy listening to distant AM stations on my transistor radio at night, and WCFL in Chicago was one of my favorites, along with CKLW out of Windsor, ON. Kirk, thanks for posting this old chart!
