Fraud Alert

Our health care provider had a systems breach involving patient personal data last year.  What a mess that was.  We had fraudsters opening up credit card accounts in our name and charging up a storm.  Hundreds of patients were affected.  Bad thing was though that the healthcare provider did not inform the patients until well after the breach happened.  We had no idea where they were getting our data from until they finally decided to inform us. Not cool.   We weren't on the hook for anything, but what a pain it was to get everything straightened out.

It happens - and I can't figure out how to avoid it - just how to correct it once it happens.
