Paul McCartney 2022 Set List

LC:  Exquisite review as always. I also admire any musician no matter what age, who continues to promote music. Just to go and see someone as Paul McCartney live and hear him play those famous songs,  the famous chords and the famous melody lines would be a treat of a lifetime.  And then top it off with incredible players in the band.  How inspiring that you have passed your love of his music down to your daughter. Of course his voice has deteriorated. Imagine all the screaming, shouting and high register vocals he was doing in his earlier years on some of those first recorded songs.  And he continued to perform all of those songs for that many years.  I hold him in very high regard musically. He looks in awesome, physical shape. To experience all of that with a family member and be there in that crowd sharing the same feeling with everyone there..WOW!  Thanks for posting that review earlier and the setlist. That was much appreciated.

I, indeed, went to the McCartney show on Thurs. in New Jersey…Wonderful performance as always…I have seen him close to 25 times…You can’t give the guy enough kudos…Voice has deteriorated a bit, but actually gets stronger as night goes on…

I can’t stand Springsteen…I don’t get the attraction…I would rather hear Paul sing Yesterday, The Long And Winding Road, Michelle, etc. or just even perform with the use of hand puppets rather than listen to Springsteen sing with his constipated vocals…

But, I have kind of made a decision that I will no longer see Paul under these circumstances again.,,Nothing wrong with the performance, just the whole experience itself…

1.) How come you can’t buy a ticket from Ticketmaster without their website forwarding you to a secondary scalper site…I ended up paying $508 for 2 tickets(I brought my son to the show)…It’s ridiculous to pay this kind of price, sitting a mile high, with Paul looking like a stick figure from this distance…You end up watching him on a big screen..,For $254 a ticket, it’s preposterous to believe that when Paul goes to his piano, he disappears from sight…Never saw him once seated at the keyboard…

Outdoor shows can be hit or miss…It was so windy that night that the music swirls around and causes tremendous fluctuation in its modulation and volume…

Plus, it took 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot and of course, an hour plus to get over the George Washington Bridge because the lower level was closed…Nightmare…

I may have finally learned my lesson…

P.S.-From what I understand, Ringo was supposed to be a surprise guest to celebrate Mac’s 80th as Paul had showed up to play/celebrate Ringo’s 80th…Ringo was supposed to be in the area, but with the last few dates of his own concert tour derailed because of Covid, he was no longer in the locale…Hence, Springsteen stepped in and performed I Wanna Be Your Man, a number that the band had rehearsed  for Starr…

P.S.S-Unless I get a really decent seat- my outdoor concert days are over…

I hear you, Lew. In order for an act to be big enough to fill a stadium, the demand for seats needs to be high, which is echoed in the price of tickets. IMO, it's just not worth it.
