Rhonda B
Merry Christmas to my new friends at ericcarmen.com. Even though I am a newcomer to the site I'm a not a newcomer to Eric Carmen's music. I have 50 years under my belt of listening, emulating, and appreciating his wonderful gift of music. It's been such a treat to have hooked up with some of you on this incredible site that Bernie created. And even though Eric Carmen may not be present here or commenting anymore, of which I missed out on, what is important is that his music has brought us all together. When a person pours their heart and soul into their art, they are gifting you a piece of themselves. That's a huge deal and as we all know here, the power of music is universal and it's VERY strong. Strong ..that it can pull us all together in a world that is sadly keeping people apart. Many blessings to you and your families during the holiday season. AND....Thank you Eric Carmen for sharing your incredible gift of music with the world (just in case you take a peek here).🎄

Kirk
Nice post, Rhonda. Well stated. There have been a few enthusiastic newbies who, when they found out they could not contact Eric through the site, quietly drifted off into the night. I have a feeling you'll be around for a while. Happy Holidays to you! 4

Helen G
Rhonda - my words about finding this site would pretty much be an exact repeat of yours! Lifelong appreciation of music via the blessing of being the youngest child in a very musical household: Dad was a pro on keyboards and brass, Mom played clarinet & piano and insisted that all 4 of us kids take piano lessons; Dad had 400+ albums of the greats of several music genres from the 1940's on; and we kids were encouraged to enjoy listening to music if we weren't at school, or practicing our band instruments or piano in the home or at childrens choir practice. 😉 Thus, we heard or experienced tons of great songs and engaged in conversations about the composers of those songs. So when I had the blessing of time during the Covid lockdown due to my own musical ensemble rehearsals and performances being cancelled, I began to revisit in a bit of a deep dive as time permitted and re-appreciate the Eric Carmen body of songs he's composed since the age of 12! Much thanks to all who've made me feel welcome here over the last several weeks! I'm grateful to have found this really intelligent community of "my people"!
Rhonda B
Yes Helen...my people also!! Sometime soon I'll post a little story about how I was introduced to Eric Carmen.. it's kind of unique. The difference in you and I would be that there is zero music in my family. My parents and none of my seven siblings are musical. There was never any music in the home. Just the radio on top of the fridge. I was the first musician in the family... I was singing constantly when I was two. And my amazing family had to work hard to support my musical interests. My siblings called me a freak of nature which I gladly accepted LOL. Merry Christmas.

Rhonda B
Thank you Billy. I was hoping for some frost because it's just a winter wonderland in this yard when we have frost. This yard my parents built together in 1953. My dad died in 2008 and my mom declined shortly after that and is still in long-term care.. and I might add she loves Eric Carmen because of me! But mostly she loves Elvis Presley. 😊 I stay here when I come to visit my mom which is about 90 miles from my home in Saskatoon. And as a tribute to my heroes, my parents, I will continue to take care of the farm as long as I can even though I have my own home in Saskatoon. I can't wait to send pictures in the spring and summer ..it's like living in a park away from all the nastiness of the world.
Kirk
So nice you have that to get away to. My wife and I decided to get away from the rat race in the '81. Spent the decades of the 80's and 90's in the Tehachapi mountains. That kind of living can change a person...
