Vinnie B Trask
How much money would it take to lure Eric, briefly, out of retirement and perform live for us in a given place or virtually for members only of the website. Can this happen Bernie. I will kick in my share! VBT INC 2021
Raspbernie
Unfortunately, I don't think there is any amount of money that could make that happen. 1

Raspbernie
Count yourself lucky if you… 1. Saw him perform on the Dirty Dancing tour. 2. Saw him perform on the All-Starr Band tour. 3. Saw him perform at “An Evening with Eric Carmen.” 4. Saw him perform on the Raspberries reunion tour. 5. All of the above. 😜
Annie
6. None of the above. Bernie, any chance you have more clips from An Evening with Eric Carmen you might post?

Kirk
Counting myself lucky because... 1. Saw Raspberries play twice at Disneyland. 2. Saw Raspberries play at the L.A. Coliseum. 3. Saw Raspberries several times on their reunion tour. 4. Saw Eric play twice at The Roxy. 5. Saw Eric play UCLA. 6. All of the above.🤪

Raspbernie
If you’re a guitar player who hasn’t played in years, your fingers might be a little stiff, but you could probably plug in and play. Not as easy to do if your instrument is your voice.

Matthew C. Clark
It's a shame that The Raspberries or Eric Carmen solo cannot come back then to the state of Michigan where I am from!!!
LobsterLvr
I'm one of the lucky ones: 1. Raspberries V2.0, December, 1974 Commodore Ballroom, Lowell, Mass 2. Dirty Dancing Tour, PNC Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ 3. Ringo's All Starr Band, 2000, New Brunswick, NJ 4. Raspberries Reunited: Cleveland's HOB, NYC's BBKings (2x), and NYC's Highline Ballroom Dave

Wear and tear on your singing voice is a difficult process to recover. The desire has to be there also. However, I could listen to a full CD or a concert of just Eric playing the piano. 2

Not going to number three still haunts me to this day. Somebody told me he was coming on a tour to Chicago and that’s the only reason I didn’t go and of course it never happened. That show needs to be released on DVD!
Vinnie B Trask
The big belters like Eric is on many songs is hard to hold up in later years unlike quieter singers and crooners. I head David Coverdale perform recently and his voice is gone. Paul McCartney's voice is gone too but he did last a long time!!
Lew Bundles
This is probably the real reason why we can’t get EC to perform anymore... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/singers/eric-carmen-net-worth/%3famp=1 1

The Bay City Rollers probably also helped to fill EC's coffers as Let's Pretend was included on the Jimmy Ienner produced album, Dedication, which was released in 1976 at the peak of Rollermania. Although the BCR bookkeeping was famously rigged against the band members, I wonder if songwriters got their royalties. The album hit the #1 spot in Japan and did well on other charts around the world. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dedication_(Bay_City_Rollers_album)
susie b
The BCR were Arista labelmates of EC, so hopefully, Clive made sure that EC got his songwriting royalties, even though Arista failed the BCR band members.
Raspbernie
Susie, Eric may have gotten performance royalties from Arista (and I'm sure even that's debatable), but he had to sue CAM for his songwriting royalties. I don't believe he received a penny of back-royalties owed him, but got full rights to his songs. This was *before* Celine's monster hit, so it all turned out well in the end. 4
Babkins
Sadly ten million dollars for a lifetime of work for a performer who has worked so hard is low. Many performers have a networth of hundreds of millions of dollars. Happy to know Eric Carmen retired before he was like some singers. Their voices are so bad and yet they continue to attempt to perform. Hopefully he will remain retired. He and his spouse are senior citizens and should be enjoying a quiet life together. kyletx500
Man, I'd love to see Eric perform live once in my life, vocals or not. But I totally understand if he no longer wishes to perform. He's had a career that many could only dream about and deserves to relax and enjoy the fruits of his labor. That being said, If he ever changes his mind, I need to be put on a mailing list or something 🤣
