susie b
Mom always said, if you can't say something nice... I'll just say I adore the original EC version. This version, not at all.
James
You're more of a purist, Susie, or something like that. Which I respect. I on the other hand, like "schmaltzy" ballad covers, like this one here. I didn't even know this version existed till a couple days ago when I was searching/studying up on new music. Crystal can sing, she's not just a tv star trying to milk her celebrity status. And Kirk, I don't think the song got within 10 miles of #1. But it MIGHT make my top 10. : )

It got to #22 on the Adult Contemporary chart, but only #86 on the Hot 100.

Annie
Totally agree with susie b. I haven't even heard Peter's version because I know nothing could top the way Eric sings it! The emotion he puts in is... I have no words ...

Kirk
That's funny! How can you be #1 on the Bubbling Under The Top 100 chart? Wouldn't that make it 101?!
Matthew C. Clark
Crystal Bernard (of TV "Wings" & "Happy Days") had 3 more songs including "Have We Forgotten What Love Is" (Billy Dean, backing vocal) that went to # 57 (Billboard Country Charts) in December of 1996. The song "State Of Mind" went to # 70 (Country) in March of 1997. The song "Don't Touch Me There" went to # 25 (Adult Contemporary) in April of 1999. Craig was right on the charting information on Billboard!!

If the Hot 100 went beyond 100, then yes, that would make it 101. But they felt the need to create the Bubbling Under chart for those singles that are outside of the Hot 100. It is a bit silly.
