Just got around to seeing the Queen movie. Excellent portrayal of Freddie Mercury!

For you Queen fans, was the lone solo Freddie album good?

If you skip past the disco stuff (and there's a lot of it), you can find some Freddie solo gems.

IMHO, his two best ("I Was Born To Love You" and "Made In Heaven") were re-recorded by Queen on their post-Freddie posthumous album

That was powerful stuff! Reminds me of Eric's Temporary Hero.

The Freddie disco stuff is reminiscent of Eric's Change Of Heart album- really good songs that would sound better without the disco era influences!

So, they kept Freddie's singing and tempo, and did a Tommy Allen with Queen! Bernie, they should have asked you to play !!

Funny, for many years I never associated the "Change of Heart" album with disco, or even a slight disco sound, until I heard you guys talking about it. Of course I see and hear where you´re coming from, but still just see the album as a wall to wall good-great collection of pop songs.
