pretender
This does have an XTC feel but to me it sounds more like a Colin song than one of Andys.

susie b
Wow! I was so excited to hear the new Monkees' music, and sad to say, I don't care for either song. Sign me, disappointed...
ter2
Hmmm interesting! I had no idea this was going on! I am interested in the Monkees' TV series blue-ray....however, I am also not sure what to think of the songs, but I like the idea.

I just pre-ordered the CD on Amazon based on those 2 songs. FYI - Amazon has the pre-order price at $10.00, if interested.
MikeC
More vocals on first song. Add the word ' Hah' before later lines for an effect. Second song, more vocals on 'smile'. Second vocal sings fifth note higher.( Lead vocal C note. Second vocal G note, for example). Third vocal changes notes three times on ' smi- i- ile for more intetesting notes. Crieating even morr interest in the song.
AnneNR
THIS IS GREAT!!!! I agree with Mr. Raspbernie ---these songs are VERY Monkee-like in sound and presentation. I can't wait to hear snippets of the other tracks, I certainly want to order this CD. I also have a shot at 2 of the locations out here in California around the week of our wedding anniversary! I hope we can afford to buy tickets to one of the venues. AnneNR
Raspbernie
I have to admit, I haven't heard one song off of this upcoming album that I have not been immensely impressed by and this new one (featuring a beautiful Micky/Mike harmony) is no exception! I have a feeling the critical acclaim this new effort is receiving might be enough to finally get the Monkees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And this being their 50th anniversary would be a great tribute, indeed! Bernie
susie b
Thanks for sharing this song, Bernie. Like this one! Always love Mike's vocals...he has a certain masculine sensuality to his voice... I sense a heavy Byrds influence on this cut. Another favorite band!
