Is Prince Dead ?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, Ms. Bessieboo, it has been confirmed that he was found early today in his recording studio (Paisley Park, on his estate ?).  His assistant evidently called authorities and they (sheriff, police, etc.) are still investigating the premises.  No cause of death has been released yet.

Gosh, this little guy looked like he might have lived much longer than he actually did (just like what I thought about Mr. David Bowie).

Interesting urban legend the news reported on ---- it has been said Prince has a large vault full of unreleased videos of unreleased songs, that is so great in number---even though he is deceased---he could release an album a year for the next century of all new material.

It will be interesting to hear whether or not that is true, and if in fact whoever is in charge of his estate will in fact release an album per year for him posthumously.

I don't plan on getting Prince in my collection of CD compilations, but just like everyone else on the planet I could find at least one song out of his repertoire that I enjoy and would even sing along with.  I really like the episode he did for the show "New Girl", it made me giggle and smile.  Such an endearing character in his own way. ^_^

Prince liked to play impromptu short sets in LA and Hollywood. Just showing up at Hotels or small clubs with no announcement and playing. He did this to improve his songs later, trying to see what the audience liked. He also needed more talent, so he would go to several clubs, finding good musicians.

Sounds like the entrepreneur spirit was always motivating him to improve on what talents he had.  From what I have seen of some of his interviews, I believe he would have been a very interesting, if not fascinating, person to talk with.  I mean, really, self-taught on multiple instruments??  Just that alone is pretty cool.  ;)

I hope his family members find some peace in the coming months as they cope with what this genius of a guy has left behind.  They will surely need it.  And I hope the fans are respectful of the relatives' privacy in dealing with the loss of their family member.

He definitely made Minnesota proud....always thought it was cool that he kept a home and recording studio here. People I know had even seen him out and about.(we don't get that much "celebrity" in Minnesota!).  Also, one of the "supernova" stars on the wall of the First Avenue nightclub (used to be up high on the wall -now eye level near the entrance). We went to the Mumford and Sons concert last night - Prince songs played during setup- anything from "Manic Monday" to an audience sing along of "Purple Rain" with a wave of phone lights!  Mumford and Sons gave tribute and played "Nothing Compares 2 U". Great show and touching that they did that.

Just to update on Prince and his passing, he had apparently over dosed on opiates, and there will be an investigating into what his doctor had been doing.  We know he was in a lot of pain, but that quack could lose his licence over that.  This was all over the media, folks.

I may not been one of his fans, but seriously, I have no use whatsoever for doctors who take an oath to do no harm. Hippocrates would have called him a hypocrite!
