AnneNR
HA--HA--HA--HA!!!! "Piss Off" ...... too funny! The other selection, "Take Me Out", reminds me a little bit of Queen with Freddie Mercury singing in his particular way for some of their songs. Were these guys influenced by them, do you know?Fascinating.. AnneNR
pretender
The first track is a medley of Sparks' 1974 (U.K.)hit This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us and Franz Ferdinand' 2003 hit Take Me Out.Sparks were a contemporary of Queen's in England in the early to mid 70s(though the Mael brothers were originally from L.A.) so there's a good chance there was some influence there. The guys in Franz Ferdinand are of the age where Queen would have been the biggest U.K. band while they were growing up.It's Russell Mael of Sparks doing most of the singing on this track.I used to love seeing Sparks when they appeared on Don Kirshners Rock Concert.Piss Off is the first single from their new album together.
