Raspbernie
Singer-songwriter Lesley Gore, who topped the charts in 1963 with her epic song of teenage angst, "It's My Party," and followed it up with the hits "Judy's Turn to Cry" and "You Don't Own Me," died today. She was 68. An early inspiration for Eric and a one-of-a-kind singer. Check out the goosebumps-guaranteed live performance above. R.I.P. Lesley. Nancy
Some years back when I went to Nashville. I attended the Grand Ole Ophry and on the roster that night was Hank Snow and Lesley Gore......I had balcony seats and I went there all by myself! I thought the stage was simple but beautiful and knew a lot of great musicians graced that stage and I also loved the music streaming from the both of them that night. Lesley Gore also sang her hit song "It's My Party" that night! So sad to hear this news! Thanks for the share Bernie.......xo. ~~~Nancy.~~~

Raspbernie
I saw her at an appearance in New York City in 2006. Afterwards, I talked to her and mentioned Eric. I asked her if she would sign a CD for him as a gift for his upcoming birthday, which she did. Eric was a big fan of Lesley's and she was also a big fan of his. She gave me a personal note to pass onto him. Talented, yes...but sweet, kind and generous, too. Bernie
Nancy
Your last line in your sentence Bernie. A beautiful package that a very few people have. Thinking it would be better classified as a special person's (natural) gift, all with in. She sounds like a lovely lady. Wished I could have met her that evening! Thinking Eric loved and treasures that birthday gift from you too...... ~~~Nancy.~~~
ira
I'm shattered....Lesley was the poster girl for innocent Teen Romance yet she was a strong independent gay woman..I wonder what those years were like for her. She was Quincy Jones' first major production success! BTW...her brother Michael created the "Fame" phrenomenon for which she co-wrote this incredible song.
