Gary Oldman's an amazing actor! He's hot too, but I can't get into it, I'm a newbie and I don't want to get points off for pining. :D;)

Well, I'm going to get into it!  I've been following Gary Oldman's movies from way way back, had them all on VHS at one time.  He is such a versatile and great actor --- he is like a cameleon, he disappears into whatever character he does, and DOES IT WELL --- Bram Stoker's Dracula as the vampire --- Sid and Nancy as Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols --- The Fifth Element as the villain Zorg --- The Scarlet Letter as Rev. Dimmsdale (very hot with Demi Moore) --- Immortal Beloved as Ludwig Von Beethoven --- Batman as Commissioner Gordon --- Hannibal as Mason Verger (EW!! :P ) --- Lost In Space as Dr. Zachary Smith --- State of Grace as Jackie --- Leon: The Professional as bad scary cop Norman Stansfield (with Natalie Portman as a kid) and the list goes on.

I'm not on the same level with Cayennegirl and her admiration for Mr. Carmen, but I certainly think Gary Oldman is one of Hollywood's most underrated actors.  That's my opinion, and I'm not humble about it. :D

Back on topic --- great stuff for Jimmy Fallon, and I'm glad we're seeing some of the SNL vibe on his show with observational humor.  You go, Jim!!!!

"Romeo Must Die" is a Jet Li movie, kiddo, you must mean "Romeo Is Bleeding" which if I remember correctly had a psychotic Lena Olin as a Russian assassiness who cut off her arm on purpose to accomplish something, don't remember exactly what.  I think Gary Oldman was a private eye, dirty cop, or something like that.  Lena's performance almost upstaged Gary's performance, she was that convincingly crazy!!

As for Immortal Beloved, this is one great supposition as to who Beethoven's love of his life was, great screenplay.

Up to 2001, I have seen just about anything he's been in, but I haven't seen Tinker Sailor Soldier Spy -- yet.  I'm not a fan of Harry Potter, though I have heard he did a good job for that franchise.  I have some catching up to do within the last decade for him.  He may not be able to "sing the phone book" but he could certainly act the covers off of it!!  ;):D

I knew IB was a "supposition" but a lovely one indeed.

Of course, Romeo is Bleeding!  I saw that movie a couple of times and there was some crazy and unexpected action in it for sure but I did like GO's performance.

Romeo Must Die is something my son Paul probably watched ;)

I watched "Romeo Must Die" as well, I like Jet Li movies like this one, and Chow Yun Phat who also did the remake of "Anna and The King" with Jodi Foster playing Anna.

There are several Asian actors I enjoy watching on the big screen -- Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Phat, Jet Li, Jason Scott Lee, to name a few.

Jimmy Fallon hasn't done too bad with that baseball movie he did with Drew Barrymore. ;)

Fallon is doing a lot of things on "The Tonight Show" that he did on "Late Night." I have adored him since his first days on "SNL," but he was almost like TV's best-kept secret on "Late Night" — a genius only a smattering of us knew about because we were the only ones who stayed up that late. ;)

That said, I'm thrilled for his success. He belongs to everyone now.

Left to my own devices when single, I was mostly a night owl.  I fight the tendencies to reach an amicable compromise with hubby.  It would be easy to get back into the habit of being a total night owl --- I used to like do household chores at night when everything was quiet and peaceful, it helps me concentrate and focus on completing projects, tasks, or chores.

I have to catch Jimmy Fallon when I can, hubby comes home and I give all channel controls to him.  He watches things I like to watch with him, but he is a purest with SNL people, only the original group holds his interest --- Chevy, Gilda, John, Dan, etc.  So I catch up on Jimmy sometimes later.
