Wendy-Ann
Hi Dan,LOVED THIS!Thanks for finding us and sharing this detailed post about Eric's visit. It was a most enjoyable read! I wish the news would find more time to feature (in a bit more length) the good that takes place when a famous person (or anybody for that fact) gives back to their community. That's why your post Dan, let us be "right there " in the room on that day and we can now picture what the cameras may have captured, but the producer of the story could not (most likely because of time restraints) show. Such a pity. To me, an uplifting story that may touch one or even several lives, trumps many, many other stories by far! Thanks again! Dan E. Buoy
Wow, what kind feedback from everyone here! This seems like a great online community you've got going. If I could figure out how to post photos here I would share them and other tidbits about the visit, but I'm afraid right clicking 'copy' and then trying to paste in the body of this message box is not working for me. I've got some great photos if I could only figure out how to share them. Also, Wendy-Ann, for what it's worth, the cameraman from Channel 5 took tons of footage, and asked Eric a number of questions in the private hallway interview, but he warned us that "This is sweeps week, so there's going to be a lot of 'investigative reporting' stories running, and they're going to edit this way down." He also said he hoped that the online version of the story would feature more content, but I'm afraid that did not happen. Finally, there's a special surprise coming when Eric attends the show this weekend, I'll fill you all in next week after it goes down, it's nothing huge, just a nice touch. Tony Cartmill
Thanks Dan. All Eric has to do is show up, and he'll get all the love he is due. Didn't it used to be that way here as well?

Dan E. Buoy
What a fun afternoon! I get to watch the final student matinee performance of "Footloose," with the Cleveland kids playing to a sold out house in the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square, and when I get back to the office my phone rings."Hello, this is Daniel.""Hi Dan, Eric Carmen. Listen..."And then he asks me for a favor. So now I'm gonna go do a favor for Mr. Carmen. If anybody's in Cleveland this weekend, check out the show Saturday night. You won't be disappointed. Just Google "footloose calendar all city" and you'll see the Great Lakes Theater link to get tickets.Otherwise, I'll fill you in next week.Cheers! Dan E. Buoy
So last Friday, Mr. Carmen calls me and asks if he can be seated near the stage. All of the tickets for "Footloose" were general admission, meaning first come, first served, sit wherever you like, but he was bringing six people in his family, and also had a suprise up his sleeve that was shared with me.So I printed up six "reserved for EC and family" seat signs and had them put in the front row, on the house right aisle. These are terrific seats, not only near the stage but also right there in front of the incredible pit orchestra band, who rocked the house. The night of the show, our play's director was doing a welcoming speech to greet the audience, and he gave a warm welcome to Mr. Carmen. Then the show began. It was a great performance that night, the kids were so excited to have him in their audience. Then came the second act, and then the curtain call. The audience leapt to their feet, and then EC was quickly ushered up on stage, where he presented a boquet of flowers to the leading lady who had earlier sung "Almost Paradise."When some people ask for seats near the front, towards the stage, you know what their reasons are. But when it's Mr. Carmen, it's so he can quickly slip up there to give flowers to the kids after the show.Class. Act.
