ira
Just got home from my second date with a wonderful woman.Like many people of our generation...she hadn't been to a concert in years..and I really wanted to share something special with her...the gift of Live music.I took her to an "Oldies" show at the fabulous "State Theater" in New Brunswick N.J. ......home of Rutgers University.Tokens...FABULOUS...Lala Brooks former lead singer of the Crystals...Fabulous...Bobby Rydell...EH?...Little Anthony and the Imperials FABULOUS...He opened their act alone singing "ABM"..and the Imperials join in on the crescendo.Whether you like their version of "ABM" or not..their Live versions of their own hits are stupendous...I LOVE it everytime I hear Eric's classic covered...and I wanted to share an audio of their Live version that I found on youtube with you. marathon mama
Getting back to the subject of this thread, I didn't know that Little Anthony covered Eric's song, so I did a google search. I found that Eric Carmen is mentioned in a review of another concert of Little Anthony and the Imperials, from mid-February. They also opened that show with "All By Myself", a song that adds the perfect dramatic effect to the start of a concert that focuses on the lead singer. Here is the link to the review: http://www.examiner.com/local-music-in-n...nstein-s-review

CURLEW
Actually, ABM works very well with Little Anthony's vocal style. Great performance.

BlondeVelvet
I've had this live version of Hurts So Bad on my YT for months. It's such a great performance.....I just love it!!!
Mood Indigo
Really liked "Hurt so Bad", ABM not so much, just my opinion tho. We went to a show at Playhouse Square (Cle) 10 or so years ago billed as The Boys from New York City, Jay Black and Little Anthony, an excellent show. ira
Thanks Monica...after a disillusioning marriage I'm of course a little hesitant to be optimistic...BUT I've had a REALLY great coupla dates with her...We were a little like nervous kids...with a lot more life baggage to sort thru than 2 kids who are just gettin' to know eachother...but with some trepidation...I say ...this MIGHT turn out to be something kinda special.
