CURLEW
Yes, indeed, only my good buddy Ira can convince me to leave the shores of Southern California for the plains of the midwest in pursuit of milestone rock'n'roll experiences. Five years ago it was Raspberries at HOB Chicago, and next month it's the final Bobby Vee concert in the hinterlands of Minnesota. In "Overnight Sensation" Eric referenced the late nights he listened to the AM radio nestled under his pillow. All those years ago, when I listened to my late night AM radio, many of those moments on the airwaves were filled with Bobby Vee's memorable tunes. It's not too late for any of you to plan to get in on the fun....

ira
Bobby Vee REALLY was a Rockabilly Guy.His link to Buddy Holly is well-documented and beyond critique.Bobby was a handsome young man with a warm voice who was discovered at the peak of the Fabian...Bobby Rydell...Teen Idol Era..and was thus given the best-est pop songs and he became the Shaun Cassidy of his day...Financially this was a great move...and one Bobby appreciates and covets..but honestly...he has the soul of a Rocker.Bobby's voice is not what it was in the 60's..whose is?..but here is a great obscure Buddy Holly tune he covered a few years back...I think it REALLY is a nice piece of music and the last really good entry in Bobby's catalogue of songs that give him a place of esteem in the Rock And Roll Pantheon.
