In 1960, Don Kirshner let Sandra Dee(born in Bayonne, GMan!) and Bobby Darin use his apartment in Tudor Court in Elizabeth,NJ to get married. Later on in the 60's he moved to Livingston, NJ. One weekend, he had a barbeque at his home near Pleasant Valley Way. Invited were Neil Sedaka, Carole King, and Neil Diamond, among other Brill Bldg. people. It is said that Neil Diamond was inspired to write Pleasant Valley Sunday as a result of that weekend barbeque.

Don's uncle Fred was an internationally known musical instrument repairman. He worked on my saxophones many times until his death in 1989 from diabetes and heart disease.

A funny piece of trivia....if you've ever watched "I Dream of Jeannie" from the mid-1960's, during the end credits, the person named as Musical Consultant was Don Kirshner.
