Thanksgiving!

I am a tad early , but I have a funny feeling I am going to be running around like a mad woman the next couple of days...

I have only been here a month, but I wanted to give thanks for how nice everyone here has been.(mostly)

I have a pretty darn good life , but have had a bit of a rough year & stumbling across this place has really been a blessing.

It's difficult at times when you're carting kids to lessons, sports etc & then when you finally do get some free time your freinds are busy carting THEIR kids to lessons, sports etc...

This is a nice little social outlet...

Happy Thanksgiving, John, Miriam & Elle & thank you for making me laugh so much!

Thanks Diane for being so sweet..

& Thanks Eric for such a great site (& great music)

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

Thanks, RACHAN!

Once again, welcome to the site!

You know, I think Thanksgiving would be the perfect time for us all here to reflect how much we have to be grateful for here at ec.com. Let's be thankful to Eric and Bernie that we all have a great little place to get away from the hectic world for a bit. A place to come in from the cold, and take our shoes off, and warm our souls with some of Eric's and others great music, and, to also be supplied with stimulating discussions and information to fill our mind with food for thought.

So, whether one is Republican, Democrat, Independent, Conservative, Moderate, or Liberal; whether one is a Tea-party follower, or one who is really none of the above, and just likes to join in the party here, and come and drink the sweet, musical Kool-aid. (And, I must admit, it's some pretty darn good Kool-aid!) Let's remember, the party doesn't make the person.

I'm thankful to have a place where everyone is free to offer their opinion, and where that opinion is valued, no matter who may agree with it, or not. There's not a lot of other places I know of where so many intelligent, funny people can gather in such an varied format, and have the family-like atmosphere we (usually wink ) have here.

So, for RACHAN, all of the new members, and for everyone here, I say, let's all take a cue from that very first Thanksgiving.

Thus, let the Pilgrims sit down with the Indians, and let us be thankful for each and every individual contribution to the plentiful feast we share before us.

I think we'll find there's room at the table for everyone.

And, y'all sit back and stay awhile, because dessert promises to be something so sweet, it will be hard to resist...Eric's music.

Isn't that what we all hungered for in the first place?

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

You are a kind beautiful soul elle ....SOOOOO much more accepting then many on this site(except missm(& John)...(missm & I are like pb&j")..you "get" it .(plus you're a cowboys fan)(Diane.......with the "get it" smile )

you take the high road & get down to the basics which are important,,,

Being a nice person is hard for most ,but it seems a breeze for you....

As far as I am concerned you are just like down home sunshine on this site & I love it....

Have a wonderful holiday honey....& if I hit the lottery...I'll try to bribe Eric to allow you to give him that scalp massage you offered in earlier posts....

I wish everyone here a truly Happy Thanksgiving. We are one big family...and like every family.....there are some looney people who belong locked up in the attic. haha

This site has attracted people from all over the world because of ec's music...for that alone...I am grateful.

As we join our own families this Thanksgiving I will be thinking of those less fortunate than I. There was a Thanksgiving weekend over 20 years ago that altered and truly saved my life...which has allowed me to help others in my field these past two decades. Thanksgiving is ALWAYS special to me.

So allow yourselves to feast. Feast on the love of all who are close, feast on friendships and opportunity to make friends, mend strained relationships.........and eat a truckload of turkey! wink

So here's to the Macy's Thanksgiving parade.......non stop football.......and the company of loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving one and all!

Very nicely posted, Rachan. Great thread! And very beautifully articulated, John. I think you sum up our EC.com "family" very well and nobody could have said it better. :-)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO Eric, Wally, Dave, Jim & their families, and to Bernie and all the fans and friends on the board and their families.

I too am thankful for such wonderful friends here and the love we all share, for the music and for the guys and each other. We've all shared a lot of magic here, seen our ultimate dream come true, had great times together beyond what we ever believed possible and have made some truly great memories. I am SO thankful for all of that. And let's raise a glass to all of the warmth, happiness, love, friendship and great times to come!

:)--Love, heartpump Dar

I mostly try to look for the bright side of things and am thankful for so many wonderful happenings in my world that I wouldn't know where to begin to list them. Right now I am just glad that my sister-in-law will be making the turkey and I get to bring some fun-to-make side dishes!

I found this interesting stop-motion Thanksgiving video on YouTube:

BE THANKFUL

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.

If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something,

for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.

During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,

because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,

because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.

They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary,

because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who

are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,

and they can become your blessings.

Yes, thankful for this site. And everyone on it.

Also that I can take a breath and go to an event tonight.

Someone called me Monday night about 11:25 PM because I asked for some homemade challah bread. I asked for a wheat bread recipe with cranberries. And an added request for chopped oranges to be added to my loaf of bread. I'm picking up the bread tonight, then picking the same friends up. For an all night cultural event.
