missm
I've been folowing this story since it began. Very early this morning the news showed one of the miners with his 2 year old daughter!! It was very cute and heartwarming that she seemed non-plussed by what had taken place. She sat on his lap and glanced at him from time to time as if to say "Well, Dad was away and now he is back!". She went on to put her hand in her brother's mouth and to wiggle about and shake her head from side to side. It was just too cute!!I am thrilled that all of those men will come home to their families!! Yes, it is a miracle!!

Tony Cartmill
I was hoping for the the tunnel to cave in, so Chavez and the other South American commie dictators could blame the USA made equipment and technology, and accuse the USA of a racist plot to intentionally kill Latin miners! Then we could watch Obama say that they have a right to their diverse opinions and apologize for past sins of the USA that would make these poor dictators have the mindset to make these "bold but misguided" claims in the first place...Then we could send millions of dollars in aide to the Chilean Gub-ment without any strings attached...But I guess rescuing all the miners safe is a good thing too. marlene
I've been watching it as much as I was able to today. It's very heartwarming to see the miners reunited with their loved ones...just praying that all continues to go according to plan until every last man is out. Laura
I agree that I hope everything continues uneventfully. All these men have a lot to face, including whether they go back to work in the mine again. It is a miracle that they made it out alive. angelina
Okay Tony...I confess.........I was VERY concerned about the rescue tunnel collapsing...but not for quite the same reasons.BTW..now that everyone is safe...and there are probably 1,000 cameras invading this small mining area....I'd like to know one thing!.....................Has anyone heard about the trapped miner that had both his wife AND mistress come to the accident site? "UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!(sung like Charles Nelson Reilly)"I reckon he would be the LAST miner to leave !
Kirk
Well, they're all out, including the rescue crew It would be fascinating to know how they managed to maintain their sanity throughout the ordeal. Would make an interesting movie (which is almost a given). A feel good story!
Raspberrybelle
TonyPerhaps I'm not up to date on Chilean politics but if memory serves, Chile "got rid of" it's marxist president (he "died" during the fracas (fracas, I just love that word) a while back in a revolution and has been a successful capitalist country for these many years since. It is wonderful that all the miners were saved and kudos to the last man out for his leadership in a time of need and all the other heroes who worked so hard to bring them up alive.Belle
Tony Cartmill
I like Chile. I eat their imported grapes and avocados during our off season. I'm talking about their neighbor dictators and commie trading partners (Chavez, Castro,...) always trying to seize any chance they get to blame the USA for the ills in their countries and the world.Anyway, as punishment I'm being sent down into the Chilean miners "makeshift restrooms" for latrine duty. Funny how they leave details of that romantic subject out of the stories...

Tony Cartmill
Thanks Chris! Sorry for trying to hijack your feel-good story thread...But if you don't mind, I could use another pair of hands down here in the "mineshaft men's room"!However, you must have gentle hands as we pick up one by one...my financial future!"Authentic Chilean Miner Turds" will sell for a fortune on ebay!Get 'em while their still steamin' warm!...Because the "Petrified Authentic Chilean Miner Turd" market price is still up in the air

julesberry
Finally a positive story. I love it. I wonder why we've had less than 100% (as they did) of survival in our mining incidents??????????????
darlene
Chris, that's why I love you to pieces! You're so positive and sweet, and never think about yourself, but always think of others. Thanks SO much for posting this. It was indeed uplifting and heartwarming to see the miracle happen at that mine. Just think how joyful the families must be! Not to mention those miners. Thanks for posting this!--Darlene
