Aventurine
"I'll Hold Out My Hand"Amazing.....I was very very very very impressed. I thought that the purpose of the reason why I was here was to know this songe. To tell the truth, I was painful recently.I was pretend not painful. I wanted to cry. And meny of members gave me some gentle message "when you may cry when you were painful". However, I can't to cry. We Japanese avoids letting one's feelings show as said before. It is assumed that enduring is virtue. Therefore, I endured. I tried to take my mind off one's worries by the other. However, when I heard this song today, tears fell. The Japanese avoids letting one's feelings show as said before. It is assumed that enduring is virtue. Therefore, I did not think to cry. It endured. It tried to take one's mind off one's worries by the other. I cried and cried.I thought that I was saved. Thank you for teaching me about this song,John. And Thank you for sending off this wonderful song to this world, Eric. Great song for me....
angelina
Booyah Aventurine....well said indeed.I understand your culture's admiration of enduring and persevering. In the martial arts I've studied, humility and perseverance are ultimate values. To me however, true perseverance is acknowledging pain, emotional suffering and difficulties and realizing that those are all part of the human experience. By working through those feelings and advancing without retreat is true perseverance and serves a high standard. Then of course, some people are perpetual victims and just like to whine and complain ad nauseum. No culture admires THAT! LOL
Brian Mc Carthy
Sometimes all it takes is a song verse, as opposed to a particular song to send you back in time through your memories. For me that is always the case.

marathon mama
"Concentrate on the pain Put my soul in command, Marathon man"This is my favorite song to sing to myself when I am running. These particular lines apply if my body starts to ache and I have to elevate my mind to a higher mode.
The Kiwi Connection
"Then you come to me with that look in your eye, and I kiss good- bye to my soul"I think these words show the "Maestro" at his best."And the days turn into weeks, while the weeks turn into years,The years turn into memories, and the memories to tearsAnd I wish just once that you could feel the emptiness I do,Cos there's nothing left but lonely after you"I find these words to be so bereft of any hope at all. seattlesteve
My question,Has anyone asked Eric his favorite home run verse?I remember "Love is all that Matters" was a grind trying to match the syncopation of the music he had all ready written,Eric, you've had melodies and words fall from the sky in your Mozart, diet coke, brain in a weekend, and you've had ones that have taken months. What's YOUR favorites?SS

It's different to see a whimsical take on the vicissitudes of the record biz. "Seems everyday I'm gettin' harder pressed to find a reason to shave..."
