Matthew C. Clark
I went to: www.oldies.com & Collectibles has just released Ray Conniff "The Singles Collection: Vol. 3" last December. It has the song "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again". The CD is NOT available in stores yet & no release date has been given. Matt
Matthew C. Clark
By the way, Collectibles needs to release "Say You, Say Me" by Ray Conniff's Singers from early 1986 & that just wraps up the complete collection. Guest Fresh
I'm waiting for the cd release of Go All The Way by the Hollyridge Strings. I want to load it on my MP3 player so I will never be bored when riding in an elevator!!
danmichel
In the spirit of The Ray Conniff Singers the Illinois Lottery ran this radio commercial at Christmas time this year which really nails the famous Conniff sound.http://adland.tv/radio/illinois-lottery-joy-someone-comforter-pizza-guy-60-usa
Les R.
John Travolta also did this very nice cover of NGFILA circa 1980.

Raspbernie
The Ray Coniff Singers also did a cover of "All By Myself" that Eric told me always struck him as being somewhat funny. I mean, a group of guys singing in harmony..."All by OURselves...." Hahahaha!
Guest Fresh
I think the most hilarious thing I ever heard was many years ago in a hotel in NY City, in the elevator they were playing "Stairway to Heaven" by The Hollyridge Strings!!! Sometimes when the "easy listening" specialists cover rock/pop songs, it can take you a while to finally figure out what song it is they are actually performing. In the first few seconds, you think to yourself, "I've heard that before. What is it?"!!
Wendy-Ann
John Travolta also did this very nice cover of NGFILA circa 1980. ">

hollies65
Well, not too surprising, a decent song and Travolta had a pleasant voice.
angelina
It was a pretty big hit in NYC as well.
hollies65
Remember the buzz about the "Dance" movie Travolta was making...I was a fan, and Saturday Night Fever, despite the haters was a great movie...a TRUE time capsule!
angelina
Donna Pescow attended my high school with my brother. The Brooklyn accents, especially Karen Lynn Gorney's, were a bit over the top. BUT Travolta commanded the screen and I believe was nominated for an academy award......and lost!
James
"Gimme Drugs, gimme drugs"..Vinnie Barbarino, circa 1975
James
Vinnie Barbarino was one of the best/funniest TV characters of alltime. John Travolta's work there is SO underrated, IMHO.P.S. "Let Her In" was huge in Columbus also, and I liked it.James
Aventurine
Oh, what a sweet voice! I changed recognition for Travolta.Thank you, missm!

GMan
It was a pretty big hit in NYC as well. Yes it was John. I was really surprised at how well Johnny T. could sing. Hey....how could he not be a success....the guy's from Jersey. Englewood...just a little trip up the Jersey Turnpike....right before the George Washington Bridge! Sorry about that tangent turn....now Ira and the "Tangent Squad" are on my tail!!
