missm
Fresh, I agree that The Hollies and Darlene Love are long overdue, but L.L. Cool J? Well that nonsense aside...what NO ERIC CARMEN ...NO RASPBERRIES?? Let's see if KISS gets in. Gee, I liked KISS when their style first came out..AS ALICE COOPER!! Early Wynn
Well, another disappointing field of nominees. I'll vote for the Hollies and KISS. Laura Nyro? LL Cool J? Darlene Love?(according to Wikipedia she had only 3 top 20 singles). I guess a case could be made for ABBA (tons of hits), the Stooges, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (both influential bands). I despise Genesis (both with and without Peter Gabriel) so I couldn't vote for them no matter what. Donna Summer is as close to Rock and Roll as Tony Bennett. The Chantels? Who the hell are they? Again, wikipedia says they released 8 singles, with 2 making the top 20. Geez, the Raspberries had as many hits. And so did E.C. If you want influential girl groups, how 'bout the Go-Go's. They were one of the first that played their own instruments and wrote their own songs. For that matter, where's the Bangles? And I do think KISS should be in, but if they make it, so should Alice Cooper. IMHO, musically A.C. (the band) was a lot better; and they were first. Someone ought to start up a real Rock and Roll HOF to replace the fraud that this one has turned out to be.
hollies65
The fact that The Hollies were nominated gives me hope that The Raspberries , The Turtles, The Zombies and The Monkees may get nominated!
Guest Fresh
I recall 2 years ago we were trying to get the Hall to consider Raspberries.Several members at that time explained how political the entire process has become.
angelina
Jann Wenner has WAY too much say in this matter.

Shelley
Maybe we need to send him a truckload of Raspberries(the fruit), and drop them at his door...maybe he'll get the hint
missm
LOL Yes, Shelley and maybe we'd get a cleaning bill. Don't raspberries stain? If they do then that would leave quite an impression.
Shelley
LOL Yes, Shelley and maybe we'd get a cleaning bill. Don't raspberries stain? If they do then that would leave quite an impression. We'll blame it on LL kool J(what kind of name is that anyway)
Brian Mc Carthy
Its political poo-poo Rob the voting process for the fame has become very frustrating for such remarkable talents such as the raspberries and Chicago also and many others
missm
It's a name he gave himself when starting out. It meansLadies Love Kool James
Dave from Equinox
Maybe we need to send him a truckload of Raspberries(the fruit), and drop them at his door...maybe he'll get the hint Nah, he'll just eat them all Why do they nominate people who have never recorded rock and roll music (like LLCoolJ, Donna, and Laura)??? Frustrating.
Raspbernie
It took years to wear Jan down enough to allow KISS in, so maybe he's softening his hardline a bit. Not surprising, especially after all of the controversy surrounding the Dave Clark 5 induction. Word was that he really liked the Raspberries set at the Rock Hall induction dinner last year, so who knows?
missm
Why is there not an outcry for The Archies not being nominated?
