Sherberries
Yes, they just announced it on our local news here, just about a half hour ago. Very sad, and she and Ryan were planning to get married.
Sherberries
One of my first jobs was at a printing company in Cleveland and we packaged those famous posters in the red bathing suit! So sad, her son is in prison.

JuliaD
And about 150+ people put her poster on ebay today right after she died. Go figure.
JuliaD
Yes, they just announced it on our local news here, just about a half hour ago. Very sad, and she and Ryan were planning to get married. I have to say when I first heard this, it annoyed me a bit. They've been together forever, and she's gotta be dying for him to marry her? Maybe it's me, but I just see it as proposing for the wrong reason, he could have married her decades ago. Just my opinion.
Ecstasy
No, Julia, it crossed my mind in the same way. Even if not within decades, how about within months? She didn't just die from a car accident within a few hours. Still, he was with her and cared for her and that's what truly counts.
Sherberries
Yes, I thought the same thing, and I don't know him, but I'm thinking maybe realty just hit him, and suddenly marriage seemed important. Not that I agree, they'd been together for years and had a son for heaven's sake!!
Raspberries4ever
http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=7881991&page=1This article says that Ryan O'Neal proposed to Farrah multiple times, in fact it became a joke between them. It was on her death bed, that "she" finally agreed to marry him. It's very sad -- it seems as though he would have loved to have her as his wife many years ago. Muzza
This is very sad. Unfortunately her death (and life) is going to get swept away in the backwash of Michael Jackson's death. She was a classy lady on screen and probably deserved better by the men she loved.Muzza
Ecstasy
I haven't been seeing that on tv, thankfully. She still seems to be getting the respect that she has earned and deserved.
darlene
Julia, I think as he saw the reality setting it that she was really dying (she and he believed that she would beat the disease), he probably had an earnest desire to reaffirm his love for her. I can understand that. Also, her documentary (which was graphic and painful to see) was done because she thought it would help people to fight and try to live and raise awareness. The reality show documentary and Ryan's interview(s) are also probably an attempt by her to secure more financial security for her children, whom she loves dearly. Many stars do that. They will put themselves out there, warts and all, so they can leave their families even more secure. I don't know if that played any part in her and Ryan's activities, but it does with many stars. What a beautiful lady. She was to the end. Her memory will always be beautiful. What a love they shared! It's an inspiration.--Darlene
Brian Mc Carthy
Quite probaly one of the bravest battles against this horrible disease Whats most frightening about cancer is how even in the final stages you have days that you are feeling better I read on her website that in early june She sat up in her bed and requested her favorite steak
Ecstasy
We lost John's mom to lymphoma. Hideous. Cancer is so frightening because they still can't figure it all out. Why does it hit some people and not others? Why do the risk factors vary from person to person? Not even the genetic factors are consistent. You just don't know!
