AnniekNY
Wally does have a fabulous sense of humor on stage and has always been so kind at the meet and greets. I was at a party last Friday and a woman told me that her high school won a Raspberries concert - Clarkstown North in New City NY and Wally was her Berry of choice!!! austinberries
he was def comic relief onstage in LA when they were trudging thru the in-ear problems. great pic of a young kid who had amazingly succinct guitar sensibilities at that age while all his contemporaries were wanking their heads off w/ 7 minute solos - i loved how his lead solos complemented eric's vocal parts w/out treading all over them, ever so tastefully, esp in tunes like 'tonight'great pic; any chance wally ever reads these posts? we need to share the luv w/ him.. darlene
I heard somewhere that he doesn't go online. Kay probably shares at least some of the great stuff people write about him with him. Wally probably doesn't have the time because he works long hours, but I do hope he will so he can read firsthand how we feel about him. --Darlene
Paulie Mississippi
Love the pics and more importantly, love hearing the stories! Those who have actually had a chance to meet guys in the band and share one-on-one time with them, you have so much on the rest of us... makes me just a tad jealous... julesberry
We met Dave's brother Mike and his wife Mary at the Saturday New York show. They didn't have meet and greet tickets so we sweet talked the doorman into letting them attend. Dave didn't know they were going to be at the show so it was really great to see the surprise on Dave's face when he saw his brother. Great people! The next morning we were walking back to our hotel after breakfast and we saw Wally having a smoke outside of his hotel. We hemmed and hawed about whether or not we should approach him and decided to go for it. Believe me Jerry was in heaven, he had a great conversation with Wally and we told him how much we enjoyed the show the night before. After that we went to the 6th Avenue flea market and ran into none other than Dave and Kim and Mike and Mary, hugs all around! It was just magical for sure! They are all a great bunch of guys. Roadie #3
Every one of the guys have always taken the time to talk with fans about most anything. They are very open and honest. I can tell you that many of the shows Rusty had to work very hard to gather them together to get back to the hotel after a show. They always wanted to stay and talk with people. As for band and crew relationship; they always ask if there is anything they can help with. Since my heart attack in 2003 Dave and Wally are always on my back telling me "don't lift that and take a break, etc, etc, etc..The one thing I can say about this band and the way it has been since 2004 is that we are a family, sometimes dysfunctional, but truly care about each other. The last 4 years has been a blast for me, not only the music but the hours of laughter with band and crew. Believe me, "we're not in it for the money". raspberrywolf
Meeting Wally,Eric, Jim and Dave backstage just before the Cleveland show left Valorie and I in a state of shock. These guys were so down to earth and asking us if they could get us anything. It was also the moment we were able to meet Gene and Al for the first time (They were our angels because Al made the private meet happen and then Gene blessed us by taking professiona photos of all of us because Valorie's camera decided to go on the fritz just at that precise moment. One thing though that DID bring tears to Valorie's eyes was when Wally actually softly serenaded her with a few lines of "Oooh Child" by the 5 Stairsteps. How many legendary bands would take the time like they did for us??? For me, because I was naturally nervous and 'star-struck' it actually was Wally's warm smile and extended hand to mine that immediately put me at ease. Forever cherished memories of our time in Cleveland.

Sherberries
At the L.A. show at the HOB, I told Wally that my (then) 8 year old son loves "The Party's Over" and he asked me his name, and gave me a pick for Joe. Joe was thrilled! Wally rocks!!Great picture, too!

luvthemraspberries
MJ said: Wally's smile is the greatest asset of the band - and I hope he contiues to do so (smile I mean)throughout his life..... but I'd still like to view it again from the stage guys!!!! Completely agree!! And YES, I'd like to also view it again, from the stage!!! LOL! I know this is an old thread, lol, but just had to add to it (via Bernie's recent post of more of Wally's contact pics)!!
