rosi Posted July 26, 2007 Share Posted July 26, 2007 I may be mistaken but I think this was from around 1974 or 75.I used to be at the Agora a lot around from about 1971 to around the mid 70's and remember hearing the Secret. By 1981 I was 27.(Too old for the Agora) Someone correct me if I'm wrong.I knew this Agora stuff would surface eventually. I thought I had read somewhere that the club had cameras running for a lot of the bands that played there. Hope to see that materialize on You Tube! Roadie #3 Posted July 26, 2007 Share Posted July 26, 2007 I am certain that it was 81 because I was hauling the gear and Frank Mussalra was the drummer. Dave and I shared a house in South Euclid from 80 thru 83 until I got married. Frank left the band in 83 and was replaced by Mark Chambers (not sure of the spelling of Frank's or Mark's last name. They did do some demo's at my cousins studio but I do not know what ever happened to the tapes. 83 was the year I married my wife, Kim and the Secret played a set at the wedding (Wally, Dave, and Eric Robertson in Tuxedos) with Mark on drums. Somewhere I have video of the weeding with them playing but at this moment it is lost thanks to my youngest daughter.Just a note, the Secret still performs around Cleveland with Eric Robertson still singing lead and they still rock. Jerry Posted July 26, 2007 Share Posted July 26, 2007 As hard as it might be for members of this forum to believe, even though The Secret was after The Raspberries, to most people in Mentor it was considered "Eric's Robinson's band", not "half of The Raspberries", or "Dave and Wally got some guy to be in the band."Alas, in the category of "Things don't always work out.", or "Life is full of disappointments.", or "Some things are just not meant to be...", Eric just didn't have the success most of us envisioned for him. As Roadie #3 says, there is still a version of The Secret out there- http://www.thesecretband.net/ If you visit the website, click on the "History" tab to see some great pictures of the band "back in the day." Eric Carmen KNOWS Eric Robertson very well or so i have heard. I have always heard there was a little competition between them. I am from Cleveland, still live here and I saw the Secret many times. Eric Robertson was considered the greatest male singer to come from Cleveland Ohio. I am not sure if he still lives in Cleveland or not. unfortunately Eric Robertson nor The Secret got a record deal/contract like Raspberries, so the world is clueless as to who Eric Robertson is. I think he is tremendous. This is so cool to watch. i have to thank the person posting this material because I recall watchng these guys all the time, using my older sisters I.D. to get into clubs. i was such a naughty girl, lol. hey, the person posting has other stuff. i think this was the Secret after Dave & Wally were nolonger in the band, but the new Secret band is very good too: mannn this is so cool. i cant believe i am watching this stuff or that somome actually recorded it. xoxo to the cameraman JEN Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

"Omaha" is a great song."Hmmm....3 excellent lead singers and decent 4th & 5th vocalists, one of the very best guitarists on the planet, and a debut album that, IMO, kills anything Buffalo Springfield ever put out (and BTW, the Springfield's only top 10 hit, "For What It's Worth" was a combination of two Grape songs that Stills "borrowed", and has admitted doing so....aside from that, the only comparison worth noting is that both bands had 3 guitarists...). They were victims of horrendous management, drug use, and insanity - in that order. Suggest you give a listen to "8:05" or "Fall On You" or "Indifference", and then come back and tell me those are "average" vocals. (No offense, but this is kinda like telling me that the Raspberries' vocals are maybe slightly above average...) Oh well...different strokes for different folks!
