Raspbernie
Jumping from #97 on the Billboard charts to #1, this tune has it all and just may be on track to be the biggest single of the year. It pays to not be on Clive's sh*t list (remember Kelly's last album fiasco when she butted heads with the hit-man?)
marvin
I just can't get beyond that title.
LobsterLvr
Here marvin...maybe this will help you; this board with suck without you! dave
Gene
Ya think someone could have written the song about her and Clive? (and I don't mean it romantically)
angelina
Gene/bernie...you're right. It amazes me that Clive Davis is STILL so powerful! He's the Kim Jong Il of pop music. John

Raspbernie
Haha. I actually like the title. My favorite part is the "yeah" that the songwriters inserted into the chorus that preceeds the song title:'Cause we belong together now, yeahForever united here somehow, yeahI have to admit, it's pretty anthemic. These writers are the same guys responsible for "Since U Been Gone," so they're really sitting on another goldmine of a smash single again. You just know Clive was tapping his toe to this one when he first heard it!
Eric Carmen
I like this record a lot, and I read a review that said almost every song on the album is just as good. The girl can definitely SING!This one sounds like what would happen if Abba and Pink had a baby, and it smoked meth!e
Raspbernie
From a pre-release review in Rolling Stone magazine: "Rolling Stone got an early listen to a few tunes from the still-untitled disc (expected out March 17th) and can report they are, in two words, totally awesome. Reports that Clarkson was making a country record were incorrect — the new album is stocked with primo pop hits reminiscent of Breakaway." Tony Cartmill
Oh man, those slightly husky, smokey strong pipes just make every tune she touches a little better than it should be! Imagine what she could do with an Eric Carmen cover! "Clive, Baby! It's Eric...Eric Carmen...Carmen!...You know, The "All By Myself" guy?...Yes, that Eric, you senile old coot...Hey listen, This "Kelly" girl with the monster pipes, that you control?...Well, I have about 10 great songs from my catalog that she would sound great singing, and I was wondering If you could...Hello?...Clive?...Are you still there?..." marvin
Certainly is a catchy song. The songwriters have a long list of credits, having written songs for everyone from Pink to Backstreet Boys, to James Blunt to Cyndi Lauper to Celine. Tony Cartmill
Marvin, can you NAME the songwriters? Or is that Canadian classified?
marvin
Here you go: L Gottwald / Max Martin/ Claude Kelly
Tony Cartmill
That wasn't so hard now, was it? Thanks Marv.Heard of Gottwald, not the other 2. Is Claude any relation to Tom Kelly? Or is Tom Kelly even a famous songwriter? I'm getting old...
marvin
Tom Kelly is a songwriter, and he has co-written with Billy Steinberg. Their credits include "Like A Virgin" and "True Colors", and many other songs. I don't believe that Tom and Claude are related.
Tony Cartmill
OK, Marvin, but could you keep researching with your contacts so we know for sure? I rely on you for the music facts. Don't let me down, buddy...

Eric Carmen
"Uhm, Eric,So nice to hear from you. I'm afraid your songs are not "edgy' enough for today's market. Perhaps if you teamed up with a great lyricist, and Max Martin....Max writes HITS, you know."Warm regards,Clive
seattlesteve
Definatly has a Pink rock vibe. Incidently an other of her hit songs with a similar sound, "Since You've Been Gone" was reportedly turned down by Pink, then Jessica Biel before Kelly got it.
