marvin
On the cusp of the Glam Rock movement, par for the course. Check out Slade here: Apparently many on that Sweet Message Board are from the U.S. It makes it even more confusing as to why they're oblivious to Eric and Raspberries. John P
Here is a Sweet biography that mentions Eric. From the book No Strings Attached by Pil Moss " On this american tour, Sweet were topping the bill at a series of 5000 seaters, which they managed to fill most of the time, they were being supported by Eric Carmen, former member of the Raspberries. He was a classic pop performer, young and good looking, the band had offered Status Quo the support slot but they had quietly declined the offer". HT from Mo
I was a little late reading this thread..... all I can say is HOLY SMOKES! I've had a great time reading all 17 pages. There hasn't been this much musical sparring in a long time.Even though I was a little irritated at Panasoniq, it was an amusing read. Like Wendy, I'm not musically inclined so I just enjoy music because it makes me happy - not necessarily listening to the lyrics.LC,I am amazed at your posts and writing ability.Marvin,I am blown away at your music industry knowledge.Lew.... you are a brave soul going into "enemy territory".Bernie and Eric,As always a class act. Need I say more.I can't say that I've heard much of Sweet's music other than "Little Willy" - which I just like the music and never listened to the lyrics.Carry on boys and girls..... Well thanks, but like I said on an earlier page in this thread, my "Sarcastic Meter" has gotten mixed up with my "Compliment Meter", so I'm really not sure any more how to take these remarks. I'm guessing the Sweet site has had more hits in the last few days than ever before. Here is the latest post (I've edited much of it): QUOTE Hey Wow--I got quoted on the EC site...Tho they do think that I am a dude! ..even tho my name is Willy-I am all female and yes I really do like people who can have an intelligent conversation about music! I am big enough to admit when I'm wrong!! I have heard several of those songs but didn't realize who sang them (especially Go All The Way!) It sure is funny how subtle sarcasm can be sometimes, isn't it? And yet sometimes, it's so obvious, too.
TOMMY TUNES
Then allow me to use my Meters Marv. The same words used by LC show up as Sarcastic. When used by The Ho From MO those same words come out as Sincere and Complimentary. However, I am getting mixed readings from my Meters when I run those same words from Eric's posting. Your call on that post. Glad to be of service to you Marv. The bill is on the mail. I would appreciate it if you pay it in US dollars. LC
Tunes, why did you call my friend HT a "Ho"? That's kind of mean, isn't it? And regarding your sarcasm meters... what happened to Tunes the Peacemaker? On vacation?Marv is now up to five posts over at the Sweet site. Let's see... just 12,412 more posts and we're looking at equal distribution at both sites. Better get busy! A thousand a day for a couple weeks, and you'll be golden.Oh -- sarcasm aside (cryptic or otherwise), kudos to H-65 for sending that great live-in-the-studio bit over to our friends at Sweet. I just watched it again for the first time in a while. Classic.LittleWillyHoo, if you're reading... Apologies for referring to you as a guy. (No sarcasm here, I promise.) It was hard to tell from the few posts I saw.... But it's nice that you recognized "Go All the Way."

HT from Mo
Larry,I appreciate you standing up for me. If I can handle James - I can handle Tommy's sarcasm. I earned the "HT" not the "Ho".
TOMMY TUNES
Kidding HO err I mean HT OH you know what I mean. Now go To "TOMMY'S Name That Tune" and score the first point of the year. It's a layup.
