MJ
I work at a bank - the first slew of them at least by us are posting Friday night - unfortunately mine is not in there yet as my SS ends in 98 lol. I'm using mine for flight money to a Berries show WHEN we have one lol..... It may not help the economy but it's going to greatly improve my happiness and welfare

Guest
MJ, it's better off used for a good cause such as that. Besides, if I want to find anyone's stimulus check, I'd just take their pulse anyway! My last children's father can't find his... Emerg. says mine was well over the safety margin!

Captain Harlock
I think I'm getting a stimulus check, but I'm going to have to use it to get the car fixed... AGAIN!! The bane of my existence has once again reared it's ugly head, the dreaded "Check Engine" light! Damn you!!
Guest Fresh
I was going to finally get my 42" plasma tv.Still have a 27" RCA set from 1996.It works great, but I must admit to some envy when I visit my retired brother who has a 60" SONY XBR with Blu-Ray.However,we were just told that we need a new roof on our house,so the RCA has to keep on pluggin' along till the next stimulus package!! mellie
I was thinking about buying some grass -- as in sod (and not what some of you just thought!) I read that people who had their tax refund split deposited between more than one account are going to receive a paper check after the last of the regular paper checks are mailed... so, I have a feeling mine is coming at the end of July. I think between now and the end of July, I should be able to grow my own grass. I'm thinking about Plan B. I'm up for a Caribbean cruise - anyone else want to go? The bane of my existence has once again reared it's ugly head, the dreaded "Check Engine" light! Damn you!! I have quite a bit of experience with "Check Eng/Service Eng Soon" lamps. The Kiwi Connection
For them's of us who live outside of the US borders, could someone please explain what a "Stimulus Check"(or should that be cheque!!) is
Kirk
As the fear of a recession looms ever larger in the U.S., the president and congress actually worked together (remember, it's an election year) to get every U.S. taxpayer (who files an income tax return) a check for at least $600 (couples $1200, w/ kids- even more) in hopes of reviving the sluggish economy. I'm sorry to say that Tony will not be purchasing lizard tails with his check- the money is needed here to stimulate (hence the name) the economy. Bessieboo
Not everyone will be geting a Check/cheque.Apparently we do not qualify, we earn too much. We also also pay taxes, a ridiculous amount. We should be getting our fair share like everyone else.I cannot understand how this can be right. Everything costs more for me as well. raspathens
You see Bessieboo, you don't qualify for a check because if you are financially successful, you must not really deserve what you have. Why should society "reward" someone like you? Society requires "equality" and redistribution of wealth is a great way to do it. So, under threat of jail, or, at the point of a gun, you will not claim that check. It's all part of an ordered society - it takes a village, so stop complaining. Ok? Now, if I could only get these treasures who are about to get 6 Ben Franklins not to put mustard on my Wendy's burger.
Jerry
Here is a link to an article in the Chicago Tribune regarding investing your stimulus check- http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/yourmoney/chi-ym-finances-0427-cpapr27,0,1423636.story
Jerry
Now, if I could only get these treasures who are about to get 6 Ben Franklins not to put mustard on my Wendy's burger. I have the same issue/problem. It doesn't matter if you say you don't want mustard, or if you tell them specifically what you do want on the burger... 70% of the time they will just go ahead and slap on the old yellow mustard. Billy K.
I got mine as a direct deposit when on vacation, and it was good to know that it was there. But now to pay bills.
Guest
At least my landlord decided not to sell this place after a separation from his theatre (attached), but now he has to reifanance the movie house, is expecting his fourth daughter, and the price of every darn thing in the world, including wheat is going upward. My bills are going sky high as well, and my disability check/cheque isn't going up quickly enough. Are there going to be worldwide reolutions one of these days? Me thinks 'tis time!No wonder I'm often tempted to listen to Everley Bros.' "Problems, Problems" almost every day.Now we're gladly (and most certainly goodly) giving aid to China after the latest disaster, but some day I want to think taxes is just another State, not a life sentence of strife and heartache.Sure. I get a tax rebate for my rental expenses. But I want to help out my ex with the children. Now he's really strapped with the gasoline prices, heating costs and electricity bills. Then there's the food costs! How about a World Lobbyist Day against these crimes? Like, don't go to work or pay a month's taxes or boycott certain products. Bessieboo
I find it annoying that so many stores and car dealerships are pushing so hard to get a piece of the pie. Some marketing genius who handles banks or credit unions should be saying... pay you debts or save your check for a rainy day.
