Ecstasy
Excellent!!! I'm really glad they agreed to move on this! In a few days you'll be fine and know it and feel a whole lot better about all of this. I went through something similar with a needle biopsy of my thyroid and they didn't move on it. Then they did it wrong, didn't tell me, and my PC freaked out when he found out. I was a wreck until we knew for certain I was alright. You're absolutely doing the right thing! Prayers are still coming.
Julie
Well, just got off the phone with the clinic. They really don't think it's anything, but of course can't guarentee it. Wanted to just talk to me about it. "hate to have you drive clear over here..." Hello! It's my life, what's a 90 mile drive?! Geez! Why do they make you feel foolish for checking it out? I mean, they're making me feel like I'm a hypochondriac! But you know, for my peace of mind, I really want to know. Sounds like they might just do an ultrasound, but she told me not to take any aspirin for 7 days in case they do a needle biopsy. Again all of you, thanks for giving me a good place to vent! Take care!Blessings,Julie

Julie
Ya! Thanks so much for the support! I don't get to relax too much yet though! I'm having a little surgery tomorrow for a bump on the top of my head! Nothing serious, just annoying! Lol! I suspect it's gonna smart a bit! Will definately pale in comparison to the other though! Yep, God is Good! Blessings,Julie

Ecstasy
Well, folks, I seem to be progressing in some areas but not in others. I've lost appx 10 lbs total so that's something. My stats (basal temp, glucose levels) are holding pretty well. I just can't figure out why I'm not getting any increase in energy! It feels similar to your first day or two on your feet after the flu --- I feel that way almost all the time. I got pretty wiped out after 15 hrs helping my Laura deliver her baby, but again, stats stayed good but I became exhausted to the point of shaking for the next couple of days. I can't figure out what I'm still missing! Any ideas?
Julie
Boy, I don't know Kathy Lee. The 10 lbs. is terrific. I don't know about the energy thing. Are you getting enough sunshine? That always perks me right up. I just don't know enough about health matters. I've been doing the green tea thing, but I honestly don't know if it's giving me more energy. I think I just feel better because I'm exercising more. Sorry I'm not any help, but, I'll pray for you!Julie
Ecstasy
Thanks so much, Julie. I'm going to try a couple of suggested practices. I'm going to add some sea salt to a glass of water each day (good for nourishing weak adrenals) and raw apple cider vinegar and raw honey to distilled water a couple of times a day (good for ph balance and detoxing.)My Annie also suggest that we rearrange the kitchen for MY convenience rather than standard practice. Get rid of the coffee pot and replace it with the iced tea maker and herbal teabags. Move the toaster and replace it with the blender for fruit smoothies. Make the food processor convenient for chopping veggies for soups/salads and the juicer for fresh fruit/veggie drinks (I hate breakfasts and maybe this will help.) We even have an ice cream maker that I can use to make fresh fruit sorbets. We'll give it a try!
julesberry
Kathy Lee,My boyfriend swears by apple cider vinegar and Liquid Vitamin B-12. I agree to try and get out in the sun each day, hard to do here in the midwest, I know. It's funny when I first quit smoking I think I had less energy than when I smoked and had no get and up and go to exercise. Our long winter didn't help either. These last few weeks I've really stepped up the exercise and can't believe how much more energy I have throughout the day. I've only lost 1.5 of those pesky 7 pounds I put on, but it's great to feel my pants getting looser. Also besides drinking 2-3 cups of green tea a day, I put liquid green tea extract in my morning glass of pomegranate juice. Whatever it takes, right ?
Kholvn
Several years ago I discovered a real weight loss lifestyle that really works though not recommended for anyone. It works even better than the "D" word program. You only need to do two things.1-Have diabetes2-Get a stomach virusThis will make the pounds drain off of you in no time. I lost about 75 pounds within a month. Dangerous - yes and as I mentioned - not recommended for anyone.
Muzza
Hey Kholvn, whatsup?? We haven't seen ya around for a while. Have you been with the bears hibernating or something?? Muzza
Ecstasy
Hi Kholvn, great to hear from you!!! Kinda done that already. I'm insulin resistant and have Epstein-Barr virus so simple illnesses can make me very sick for a long time. Not 75 lbs worth, though! The apple cider vinegar is definitely doing something for now. My blood pressure is lower and more stable and my glucose numbers have dropped significantly!!! I felt a bit stronger so I was able to do 10 min of free weights with no side effects for the first time in a VERY long time. I'm small and low but it's a start and I'll try to keep building on it.Hey, Julesberry, what's the pomegranate juice for? I've heard it mentioned but I can't remember why. julesberry
Glad to hear the apple cider vinegar is working for you Kathy Lee. That's super.Pomegranate juice is loaded with antioxidants and has been shown to reduce blood pressure. Straight p.j. is a little pricey so I go with a blend. My favorite is Pomegranate Black Current.

Ecstasy
Hey, folks, how are you all doing? Any changes or progress?I'm still holding at appx 10 lbs but nothing more. Oh well, it's a start. I did do two 10 min free-weight workouts (2 sets of 4 exercises) so I'm VERY slowly beginning to do exercises again. I know it's small but I'm at the point where I'd rather underestimate myself rather than overestimate and have to do damage control after the fact. This week I'm going to try to add a little bit more.I have an appt tomorrow with my naturopath and I'll discuss with him what he thinks I should do next as far as supplements and the like. Ecstasy
Hey, people, where are you all? Get on here and get yourselves motivated! How are you doing --- any progress, new methods, changes...?My naturopath says he believes I've finally turned the corner and am FINALLY in recovery with my thyroid and adrenals! I'm down another pound so that makes 12 so far. The free weights and leg lifts are going well so maybe it's safe to try adding something new to the mix. I think I'm going to try to get back in the water and see what happens.
Muzza
Umm....I have to confess to forgetting to jump on the scales lately. However I did the other night and I find I have stalled although I usually weigh myself in the morning. I am working towards using the stairs more at work too. I have to also confess to using the lift more than I should although when I'm with Kiwi she often makes me use the stairs. Today I was using the stairs on every downward trip and only using the lift when I was going up MORE than 2 floors. So you see... I am trying...sort off... Julie
Well, I was down 2.2 pounds at weigh-in yesterday--course in the last 2 weeks I had gained over 3 pounds--at least I'm going back in the right direction. It was just too much when we were going through all of this other stress in our lives. Haven't done my workouts lately. I have been active though--planting my flowers, etc.... so maybe that has helped. I'm having awful Charley Horses in my left leg and my right foot. Decided I should up my water and potassium. Will pick up some bananas at the store today. I've also upped my fiber a bit more--got some of that Fiber Sure powder that you had to your food to boost the fiber. I've been stirring it in my oatmeal and I absolutely can't taste it or notice any other changes--just like the label says! No stairs where I work--but I do get a lot of walking in there everyday! Hang in there gang!Blessings,Julie
The Kiwi Connection
Great work everyone. You are all amazing. Julesberry...you still "smoke free"? How long is it now?
Muzza
Hey I didn't use the lift once today. Used the stairs everytime and that includes going to the top floor. I'll try and remember a weigh in tomorrow and see what happens (or has happened) Muzza
Muzza
Ummm... I weighed in... and.... I'm still the same...didn't go up and didn't go down. I guess that's something. I got more exercise today chopping logs of wood, loading and then unloading it at home. Now I have muscles that hurt and ache and Kiwi thinks its funny. Where's that TLC and sympathy when ya need it eh??? I'll go soak in the bath with some smelly bubbles and read a book... that'll help.
