Muzza, This is for you !!!

A Guide to Exercise for the Physically Inactive

A calorie guide citing a recent medical association report: "Proper

weight control and physical fitness cannot be attained by dieting alone. Many people who are engaged in sedentary occupations do not

realize that calories can be burned by the hundreds by engaging in strenuous activities that do not require physical exercise."

Here's the guide to calorie-burning activities and the number of

calories per hour they consume.

Beating around the bush 75

Jumping to conclusions 100

Climbing the walls 150

Swallowing your pride 50

Passing the buck. 25

Throwing your weight around (depending on your weight) 50-300

Dragging your heels 100

Pushing your luck 250

Man I do so much of that I should be miniscule by now.... :rolleyes:insane

Official weigh tomorrow... I'm not sure I am going to be happy with the result. However, that may be the reminder I need to upgrade the exercise regime. I have been swimming and walking this week and haven't eaten TOO extravagently.

Ooops... forgot to weigh in this morning before having breakfast. Too tempted by Kiwi's Waffles with Bacon and Banana and Maple syrup on them. And the Maple syrup is Steeves from Elgin, New Brunswick, Canada so its gotta be good for me Huh!!!

I'll weigh in tomorrow instead now.

How are others of you going with your slimming, dieting, exercising, giving up smoking etc? Let us know.

Well, the bentonite clay seems to be helping me detox. I'm actually beginning to feel a difference! My naturopath added some zinc to boost my immune system so I'm hoping to be perfect by this spring! :P Ok, maybe not perfect but a girl can dream, can't she? laugh

Kathy Lee,

Have you tried the bentonite clay bath? Just wondering how effective that would be. Glad to hear that you are feeling better. I'm always interested in hearing about healing herbs and natural remedies.

We are in week TEN of No Smoking. smile

Muzza, just wondering if you were in charge of the cooking if that would make a difference for you? Or maybe you are a good cook??? :p

Hi Julesberry! I still need to do a little research about using bentonite in the bath because I read something about it messing up your plumbing but I think that only relates to septic systems.

As far as taking it internally, a friend said that you need to take it with psyllum because otherwise it can cause intestinal blockage! (I guess it can have an effect on ANY kind of "plumbing", huh?LOL) It would make sense since I have notice intestinal pain on the days I take it even though I feel better overall.

Plus, I still need to take some time to marinade in that Mustard Viniagrette bath recipe you gave me!LOL Where do you find those spices in that much bulk? Or do you just dump in a couple of bottles each?

What a cheeky girl that Kiwi is... she's probably right though... I'd probably starve to death... or eat poached eggs on toats and spagetti on toats and baked beans on toast and sweet corn on toast... and that probably wouldn't help my weight loss.

Julesberry... I think my problem is my spasmodic exercise pattern... that's what I need to work on. And WELL DONE on the No Smoking .... That's great to hear.

Kathy Lee,

There is a Health Food store right down the street from where I work and I buy the salt and mustard in bulk. That's also where I bought the essential oils. Or most ingredients can be found at the grocery story. I read up a little on the bentonite clay and yes it seems like you have to be careful how you take it. I would ask your

naturopath about Triphala, an ayurvedic herbal formula. I just ordered some, and am anxious to try it. This is what have read about it "improves digestion, reduces serum cholesterol, improves circulation (potentiates adrenergic function), contains 31% linoleic acid,

exerts a marked cardio-protective effect,

reduces high blood pressure, improves liver function, has proven anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties, expectorant, hypotensive. I'll keep you updated with my experience with it.
