Julie Posted December 7, 2007 Share Posted December 7, 2007 Ah, joy! I lost 2.6 pounds this week! Now, I have lost all that I had gained back plus 1 pound! My biggest challenge? A lady brought in several trays of enormous cinnamon rolls to work yesterday!! The breakroom is right next to my office! I had people practically begging me to eat one! (how rude!!!) The couple of pounds I dropped have stayed off. I did notice that I felt slightly buzzed a few times so I had to double-check the amount of sugar I was taking in (Christmas cookies. Eating healthy foods and cutting down on fat?Come on, everyone! We can do this! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!I've eaten so much lettuce and carrots this week that I'm starting to feel like a rabbit! Anyway, I am motivated. Darlin' hubby (DH) wants to go on a vacation to Branson at the end of March, beginning of April for our anniversary. My 30 year high school reunion will be this summer. I really just like how I feel when I'm livin' right! Hang in there and let's motivate each other and work together! That's always a problem for me in winter. (I also need to get back to drinking my sea salt and my apple cider vinegar and get serious about it!) Anybody up for a challenge? I challenge everyone to work out at least 4 times this week--starting today (Monday--not sure about what day it is in New Zealand, Muzza. Would that be Thursday here?! Lol!!!)I'm also having some trouble with the water part. My boss is having me go out of the building and out into the community and the bathrooms are few and far between! Why don't you join us in the fruits/veggies challenge? This doesn't have to be retracing your steps by condemning yourself to carrot and celery sticks! Especially "I want those Abs"ouch, can I feel it. A tropical vacation may be in the wings, a good incentive. Not too bad, I already have in 2.5 hours in for the week. Where's the sweaty graemlin? I've taken in 5 extra glasses of water today!I'm also starting a book to help me develop a new mindset called Extreme Makeover God's Way. Remember, I'd done a lifestyle change when I became insulin resistant 5 yrs ago. Now I need a fresh infusion of initiative to get my drive going again to deal with the adrenal/thyroid stuff. I used to just do cereal and skim at breakfast and still felt hungry. Now I do a apple or banana before lunch and it's made a huge difference. Usually a Lean Cuisine for lunch and then fish or chicken for dinner with green beans or brussel sprouts or a nice green salad with plenty of tomatoes and maybe avacado with basalmic vinegar dressing,yum. Maybe a small red potato. What do you think was your best benefit from the apple cider vinegar? So many questions but it's getting late for today. Ecstasy Posted January 8, 2008 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Dinner isn't as big of a problem as breakfast is. I'm not usually a breakfast person but I do understand the benefits. I've been thinking maybe I should start light and small --- yogurt or a fresh fruit smoothie. What I did notice, though, was that I had a lunch that was predominantly protein but I desperately needed carbs for dinner because I was so shaky and needed the energy fuel.Raw apple cider vinegar and raw honey (but it MUST be raw and unprocessed) provide a couple of benefits. The vinegar helps alkalinize the body and helps build the immune system. The honey helps desensitize the body of pollens/allergens. (I am currently off of ALL of my allergy/asthma meds AND supplements and only need them during a flareup!!! It took two YEARS to accomplish this!!!) This drink also acts as a liver detoxifier.
