Incredible job, Reid!!! It sounds like you've found what really works for you. Many people never even get as far as figuring it out! Take it carefully and you'll do great. I had lost 90 lbs in 14 mos and then blew out my adrenals. Cortisol dumped 40 of those lbs back. I've been carefully working at it and have re-lost 15-18 of those lbs (depending on the day)so far and am still hoping to keep going. I'd like to get back to the point I was at before the crash and then use that as Point A to keep going from there. Do you like water? You'd be astounded by the weight you drop with water aerobics!

Thanks for the kind words, Kathy Lee. I hit a plateau a couple of weeks back and I have been getting a bit anxious for results. insane Of course, anxiety makes food start looking awfully good, especially a plate of steak fries with lots of mayo. Have had a few slips, but as long as the wife is out of town, the fridge is stocked with veggies, fruit, chicken, fish, and cottage cheese. I'm sure that the scale will start moving down again soon.

PS - The Grove and HOB have offically been designated as "free" days, just in case I pig out in front of witnesses. Didn't want to blow my credibility. laugh

Hey, free days are a smart way to go! Honestly, they keep you from feeling deprived and binging out. It's better to allow yourself to lose a day here and there rather than freak out and lose a week or two. I'm insulin resistant and they taught us that when they suggested I go to diabetes management classes (just so I wouldn't worsen and slip into diabetes.) Let yourself blow your glucose numbers once in awhile so you don't get discouraged and not stick to the diet. After awhile you get used to it and your body responds. I think you're making a lot of very wise decisions and it sounds like your body agrees!

At least it's not a gain! And, yep, some exercise and eating less would be a great start!

I made a turtle pumpkin pie that I got on the Weight Watcher's site. It was delish--although it was very messy/sloppy looking. I did have a slice of mom's homemade pumpkin pie though and it was awesome--I steered clear of her pecan pie.

We ate at Applebee's last night and had the Weight Watcher's French onion soup and the cajun-lime talapia. Yummy!

I wasn't able to go to weigh-in this week so not sure how I did for sure. Do know I lost some though!

Take care all!

Blessings,

Julie

Oh--Reid--sounds like you're doing great!

It sounds like everyone has the problem well in hand here. Thanksgiving and Christmas are "free" days, too. I've been pretty good, because I let myself have some treats on the weekend.

On Hallowe'en, Herman bought me a whole BOX (like, 22!) of those delicious Russell Stover chocolate pumpkins with orange marshmallow centers. However, I've been very good and still have 16 left. That's unheard of for me! I just keep thinking that more than one will put some of the (now) 12 pounds I've lost back on, and it stops me cold.

Be strict with yourselves. It's SO worth it!

How are we doing this week gang? A lot of stress out there this time of year--that makes it really easy to mindlessly graze!

I was down 2.6 pounds this week. My leader hugged me. She thought it was amazing that I could lose that much over Thanksgiving week! I've made a goal to lose 7 pounds by Jan. 1st.

This week, I've been exercising more. I'm not starving to death afterwards like I was earlier this year after a workout. This is good!

Hang in there everyone! We can do this!

Blessings,

Julie

Thanks you guys!

It is really a chore to get your mind into the groove of losing weight. I guess it's just something that you have to obsess about or have a solid reason to keep you on course. If we could bottle will-power, we'd be rich!!

Hang in there! I think if you make it through the holidays by staying the same, or gaining just few pounds, than things are going to be fine!
