darlene
Bracciole. And steak pizziaole (spelling?). Both absolutely delicious! My Italian relatives were from Naples. What fantastic cuisine! --Darlene
GMan
That's what I'm talkin' about!!! Neopolitan or as they pronounce it (nob lee don). My grandparents on both sides were from Naples. I knew it would take a Jersey Girl to speak the same lingo!! LOL G
Muzza
Hey... good news... well for me anyway. I'm down to what I was before went to the States so now to get lower!!! Hey Kiwi... can I still buy new clothes for the summer??? Muzza
Ecstasy
Hey Julie, how's it goin'? Any progress?I've been journaling what I eat for about 4 yrs now. I do it to keep my glucose levels in check, though. If I have a salad for lunch then it's probably a good idea to have some carbs for dinner. If I have carbs at lunch, I should probably aim for protein for dinner, etc. It has helped me SOOO many times find out where my body is short-circuiting when I don't feel well or my stats become erratic.Great job, Muzz!!! Are you thinking of losing a certain amount or just to a point you feel "right"?I saw my alternative doctor and my naturopath this week. Both said I am definitely down several pounds. But the REALLY exciting news for me was that both agree that we're finally seeing signs of my adrenals beginning to recover after 2-1/2 yrs of struggle!!! They said adrenal recovery usually takes 5-7 yrs so this is just the beginning but at least it's a step forward. I may get to be my old self again someday after all --- I'm ecstatic! Julie
Kathy Lee--great news. You're on the mend! It may take awhile, but you'll get there!Muzza--congrats on getting back to your "before trip" weight. That's great! I would imagine that Kiwi will let you buy a few new items for summer. Don't know that you're ready for "Speedos" just yet though......As for me, I've lost 6 of the 10 pounds I put back on so I'm well on my way! At Weight Watchers the other night, she gave us all food journals and we're to write down all of our food intake and track our exercise. Then, we'll take the journals back next week, and trade with someone! Boy, that's really motivating me to stay on track!I'm really fighting the urge to stress-eat right now. My boss is being a total "B" to a co-worker and it's driving me nuts! I swear this woman just likes to stir things up! Muzza
Kathy Lee... no particular goal weight... just when I can get into ALL the trousers that are hanging in my wardrobe. Now I'm off to make me some spaghetti and toast. Muzza
Julie
How are my "slimmers" doing today? I had a rather stressful day yesterday, and only went over by 4 Weight Watchers points! That's a really big victory for me! We get 35 "flex points" per week for little splurges, so I just tapped into that. Spaghetti and toast? Interesting. I made spaghetti Thursday night with that new Ronzoni thin spaghetti. It's a white pasta but they've added a lot of fiber to it. It's really good--I can't tell the difference and it's a point less per serving! WoooHoooo!Blessings,Julie
Julie
I weigh and measure everything. I have a cute little scale that does onces and grams and I have all kinds of measuring cups and spoons. I find this is the best way to keep me honest about my portions.I also try to eat really slow.I've been upping my exercise. Hubby is really happy because I can earn activity points doing "marital exercises!" Try it! You'll like it! Blessings,Julie
James
Hmmm, I wonder what she means by "marital exercises"...Must be when the wife gets the broomstick out and commences her 3 sets of husband-swatting reps.. Or maybe the long set of jaw-ups the wife gets credit for, when verbally giving the husband his daily to-do list ..

Julie
Oh James! That's funny because my husband's name is James too! Seriously, we've done "it" 6 times since Saturday and I ended up losing 4.2 pounds this week! It works!!! Lol!Julie
James
Jeepers Julie, I think I know what you mean now. And I'm turning real red as I write this post..
Muzza
Somehow James I have difficulty in imagining you blushing. Great to see you back. The girls need someone to keep them on their toes. Muzza
Julie
Well, Muzza, how was your weigh-in? We need to keep this thread more active to encourage each other!Think I'm having another good week. Switching food journals with someone else at Weight Watchers has been the most helpful thing I've ever tried! You can really behave if someone else is reading your journal!I've been exercising more too. I did a 2-mile "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD last night--major victory for me! Usually, when I get to the end of the 1st mile, she says, "Ok, if you're just doing 1 mile with us today, that's fine....but if you're doing 2, keep up with us!" Well, that usually makes me feel like I have permission to stop! But, last night, I kept going and am so glad I did!Hang in there friends! We have the holidays coming up! If we get a good handle on our eating/exercising now, we will breeze through the holidays happy and healthy and with a jump start on all the dieters who start on January 1st! We can do it! We are soooooo worth it!!!Blessings,Julie
Ecstasy
Julie, you just continue to lift my spirits! you're doing great, girl! I'm really dragging at the moment and am working hard to not get discouraged. My son's wedding was this past weekend and it took a LOT more out of me than I expected. (Also I never handle seeing pictures of myself very well. <smile>) I had paced myself very carefully while sewing the wedding and did great but all the on-my-feet stuff the week of the wedding took me down hard. My stats are all over the place and I'm struggling at the moment. I'm just trying to be good to myself in the hopes that I'll bounce back. Was having trouble with a lot of fluid retention due to discontinuing a supplement but once I resumed it the fluid flush through and my weight returned to normal... so now we keep going! I'll do my best to hang in there with everyone!
Muzza
I have a confession!!!!!!!!! I forgot to weigh in on Sunday. I was Soooooo excited about going to the Motor Racing I clean forgot about jumping on the scales. I'll try this Saturday morning. Julie
20 lashes with a wet noodle, Muzza! Do you have to go some place special to get weighed?? In your pictures, you really don't look that big! I lost 2.2 pounds at weigh-in last night. It should have been a little more. My fingers were swollen and couldn't get my ring off so know I am retaining some fluid.Kathy Lee--hopefully things will get straightened out for you. You have so much going on in your life! Everything needs to fall back into a rhythm and with your health issues, I imagine it takes a bit longer. Hang in there!Blessings,Julie
Ecstasy
It's slow but it's getting there, Julie. My glucose numbers are returning to their normal range and my temp is climbing back to where it should be. All good signs that I'm bouncing back quicker these days than I used to. Muzza
20 lashes with a wet noodle, Muzza! Do you have to go some place special to get weighed?? In your pictures, you really don't look that big! Julie The special place is the BATHROOM I don't look big in my photos as long as I don't stand sideways I have made a note to remind me to weigh in tomorrow, that being Saturday morning here. Tis Friday afternoon now and Kiwi is just on her way home from work so I'd better put the coffee on eh!! Muzza

Reid C.
OK, so it is time to come clean, seeing as I promised Kiwi I'd confess my caloric sins. I made it through Halloween, but Thanksgiving looms, let alone the Grove and HOB. Encouragment might be needed here. This all started back in January when a female friend informed me that she wasn't attracted to fat men. Well no one wants to feel unloved and it is better to be safe than sorry. I modified my eating habits, increased excercise, and was just plain miserable until I realized that I had really lost thirty-eight pounds in nine months. The misery part was kinda bogus seeing as when I think I am being deprived, I just like to complain. Good thing I hadn't thrown away old pants because I lost about five inches and can now slip into my old forty inch waist jeans. Thirty-eights can't be far away! So it looks like there will be more bicycling, letting the dog take me for a walk, and the aforementioned friend has suggested that we start playing tennis regularly. So, I am going to commit to dropping below 200lbs by the end of January. That will be a weight loss of sixty-two pounds in one year. Then, just twenty more to go! Muzza
Hey, I don't think I've had lunch with a shadow before Reid. That'll be fun. I'm hoping I may have lost a few grams this week as I have been building a deck in our courtyard. Lots of physical stuff happening and much sweating too. Oh sorry.. perspiration. If I don't eat too many Ice Creams I may just manage a bit of a loss. Muzza
