Capitol Records Music Group Wants To Sell Famous Building

Recommended Posts

It looks like they've been wanting to sell the building for about four to six months, but I think the city is saying, "No". The historic building was said to be the first modern round building. The problem seems to be that Capitol Records wants to make the building into condiminiums, but it looks like parking might be limited. Plus, there would be a big conversion to change over to condos. I guess they want to move-(to Burbank?)with more record companies there.

I was thinking about the tapes, too, Kirk. Where are the tapes? Well, any artist's tapes who has recorded there? It's happened before, with Hollywood movies, from the early years, with reels turning up in someone's garage, because someone saved the tapes. And when new owners bought a house, the tapes were found. Quick, get as many as you can, because someone might say that they don't know where they are, later. Maybe The Raspberries could get the masters back(by default), since Capitol Records wants to change the original asset and plan of the building. And, to change what "it is" and "was" intended to be used for.
