Muzza
When we go to work Kiwi and I often make sandwiches for our lunch. I LOVE Tomato Sandwiches. What's your favourite filling??Muzza
ira
Doesn't tomato have to be with something like tuna or bacon and lettuce?I didn't even relize that tomato was ALLOWED to gig alone!
Muzza
I am a margarine, slices of tomato, salt and pepper on my sandwiches man. Others have lettuce and bacon as well, but me, just the tomato. Perhaps I like to see the tomato "gig" alone. Muzza
Kirk
I'll take lightly buttered toast, smear a half-inch layer of avocado on it, add some salt and lemon juice. Makes a tasty sandwich! Kirk.
The Kiwi Connection
I couldn't agree more Kirk...but it's better with an inch of avocado!!!! :p
Julie
good old peanut butter does it for me!But, when I'm trying to be good, I just put tuna between 2 slices of wheat bread. Nothing else. Just the tuna and the bread. Yummy!
HT from Mo
Me too Julie - I love PB but I like to put bananas on top!HT
AnniekNY
Ummmm...avocado....OK - avocado, basil, tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinegar.I'm with you Muzza - a fresh homegrown beefsteak tomato on white with mayo, salt and pepper (sometimes cheese). I love the smell of a warm tomato fresh from the vine, not those watery, tasteless winter tomatoes.HT - PB, bananas with honey drizzled on top.... mamacote
....my grandma liked the sardine and onion combo.......with a limburger cheese chaser........don't get too close to that.....
Ecstasy
Chicken or turkey salad on multigrain bread. Tried it on a croissant but it sends my glucose numbers up too high so we stick with the much healthier multigrain. Sliced turkey or turkey ham is good, too. Muzza
Now I've got some great ideas for my sandwiches next week.. Kathy.. I think you do very decadant sandwiches. I'm not sure the PB compensates for the Marshmellow. Muzza
The Kiwi Connection
Muzz keeps teasing me about some of my sandwich fillings.I can't see anything wrong with PB,Honey and Gherkins or PB & Cucumber, or PB and Honey or PB and LettuceHT.... Cottage Cheese and Mashed Banana on multi grain is nice

angelina
This might sound odd but Florida has the worst tasting tomatoes on the planet........New Jersey has the best. (Who would have thought that?).In the meantime....PB and banana rocks!
Julie
You can have the tomatoes, Jersey, but for sweet corn???! Iowa!!! By-the-way, we'll be growing baby peas and sweet corn for Green Giant this growing season! I'm kind of excited! Most farmers in our area, grow corn and soybeans for ethanol and for stockfeed. sterling
Can't beat our sweet corn, neither.Uh...Mrs. Cleaver..Have you tried Illinois sweet corn?....I didn't think so....Ours really kicks a_ _ ! So...try some! We have places in Illinois where you can stand and see nothing but corn in all four directions..... Yes that is big! I cannot say its better than Jersey corn since I have not tried it ....perhaps you can serve it at Weekend at Bernies 50 and we can determine which is better!Phil
